Pan Anbang, who debuted in 1979, is known as the "King of Taiwanese Folk Songs". In 1989, he sang "Grandma's Penghu Bay" and "Follow Your Feelings" at the China Central Television (CCTV) Spring Festival Gala and became a big hit in the north and south of the Yangtze River, before retiring from the scene. His songs accompanied people born in the fifties, sixties and seventies as they grew up and sank. His singing voice is deep and heartfelt, and his classic songs, such as "Grandma's Penghu Bay", "Gathering and Dissolving", "Country Roads", "Dad's Straw Shoes", and "Thoughts Always Come After Breaking Up", are still familiar to us today.
