Generally, the light show is held on Fridays, Saturdays and legal holidays. In particular, "A Brilliant New Era" airs on Fridays, "City of Vitality" on Saturdays, "A Brilliant New Era" on the first day of a legal holiday, and "City of Vitality" on the following day on alternate days.
There are three shows per night. The specific show times are 19:00, 20:00 and 21:00 in winter (November-March), and 19:30, 20:30 and 21:30 in summer (April-October).

These times/circumstances need to be noted and times will be suspended or adjusted.
Note that if the broadcast date falls on Ching Ming Festival (on the same day), July 7, September 18, or December 13, the show will be suspended on that day.
On the day of the show, when the Shenzhen Meteorological Station issues a warning signal for typhoon, rainstorm, thunder and lightning, gale or hail, the light show stops broadcasting.
On the eve of or during the show, in case of more than moderate rain or other extreme weather, the show time will be adjusted or stopped as appropriate.
Five days before the show, the show will be suspended when there is a special or important event in the country that makes it inappropriate to conduct the light show, and the time of suspension will depend on the size of the event.

The Vibrant City themed light show highlights the themes of fashion, vitality and innovation. The show lasts about 14 minutes and includes a prelude and four chapters.
Prelude: Warm Red, Pure White, Innocent Yellow, Dreamy Blue. Through Mondrian's rhythms and jumps, an artistic symphony is generated, interpreting urban variations and highlighting the city's vitality. People from all over the world converge in Shenzhen, merging into the tide of reform and opening up, spanning the 40 years of our lives and creating a new spirit and strength of the city.
Chapter 1: Rhythm. Speeding vehicles and intertwining roads show the charm, vitality and image of the city through changes in light. Jumping traffic signs and symbols constitute the order of the city, creating a new syntax, full of citizens' expectations. Busy traffic symbolizes youthful vitality, and various signs epitomize the development of the city. High-rise buildings and wide squares are inseparable from the efforts of builders. Traffic coordination, pedestrians and cars courtesy, land, sea and air into a network of endless flow, so that the city has become the beauty of order, behavior, civilization.
Chapter 2: Drawing interest. Colored pencils, random doodles, cheerful tunes, show the natural style.
