Ancient Rome gladiator arena in which country

Roman Colosseum in the Italian capital city of Rome on the east bank of the Tiber River, the symbol of ancient Rome. It is known as one of the Eight Wonders of the World.

The Colosseum was built in 72-79 A.D. after the Roman Empire conquered Jerusalem to commemorate the emperor's great achievements. It was completed by 80,000 Jewish captives with 8 years of labor. The entire building covers an area of 20,000 square meters, has a circumference of 527 meters, and can accommodate 90,000 spectators. Half of the walls of the Colosseum have collapsed after 2,000 years of rain and wind. The ground where the gladiators and the beasts fought to the death is in a state of disrepair, and the cellars built in those days are exposed on the ground, however, the surrounding grandstands are still quite well preserved. At the entrance, there is a plaque known as the Triumphal Arch, where medieval sedan chair carriages were prepared for visitors.
