Brief introduction
The Grasshoppers, consisting of Choi Yi-chi, Choi Yi-jie and So Chi-wai, participated in the 4th New Talent Singing Contest in 1985, and reached the finals of the contest with the song "Rush Together". Though they lost the final round of the competition (the winner of the contest was Derek To), they were appreciated by Anita Mui and were invited to be her dance partners during the show, and began to develop their career in the singing industry under Anita Mui. In 1986, she signed a contract with Anita Mui as her manager, and in 1987, she made her debut in the movie "Happy Don't Talk
" and signed with PolyGram Records. In 1988, she released her first album "Grasshopper", which was an alternative to the pop music scene with its powerful songs and dances, and was finally able to take on a new role in the music industry. Early representative works include "Leap Thousand Dreams", "Kiss of Red Lips", "Forgetting Samba", etc. In 1990, he went to Taiwan to develop his career. In 1990, they moved to Taiwan to develop their career. In addition, from 1990 to 1995, they won the "Group Gold Award" in the Commercial Radio's "Shouting Music Chart" for six consecutive years. Grasshoppers are also known as a songwriting duo, as Tsai Yi-chi and Yi-jie are also involved in writing lyrics, and they are one of the few duos to survive from the 80's to the 90's. Soo Chi-wai married Lau Siu-wai in 1998, and in 2000, Grasshoppers went their separate ways, and in 2005, Lin Shan-shan took over as the manager and signed with the BMA, and became active in the music scene again, with their hit song "We", which has won them awards, including the Commercial Radio Award for Best Pop Act. In 2005, Grasshopper signed with BMA as their manager and became active in the music industry again, winning several music awards for their song "We", including the "Group Silver Award" in the Commercial Radio's "Music Chart", before joining Lamb Production, a company run by Sandy Lam, as an artiste in 2008. After Grasshopper had gained popularity, the group went independent and started a new career in the pop music industry with their powerful songs and dances, and eventually became an independent artist. His early works are numerous. Grasshoppers were also a creative group with the participation of Tsai Yi-chi and Tsai Yi-jie, and they were one of the few bands to survive from the 80's to the 90's. The first album was released in August 1988, and it was the first time that Grasshoppers were released in the world. From the release of their first album "Grasshopper" in August 1988, to the release of "Grasshopper Shop" in July 1996, Grasshopper's time in PolyGram came to an end. 9 years, Grasshopper went from being a young boy to a mature man, from the heights of their career to the lows of their career, all in PolyGram, which is the most memorable part of their career, and the one we will never forget. It's also a part of our memory that we will never forget. Great songs like [Age Burning], [Lonely], [Old Records] and so on put together an early Grasshopper. in the early 90's, when the Big Four ruled the roost, Grasshopper was still able to shine. However, around 1995, when everyone was bored and disappointed with the same old songwriting scene, Grasshopper was maturing, but the three albums [With You], [Musical Insects], [Triadism], into which Grasshopper poured a lot of ideas, didn't get the attention they deserved, and Baoji didn't put out enough publicity, Grasshopper knew that their time in Baoji was not far off, so they took advantage of the fact that Grasshopper was in its tenth year of existence. In 1995, Grasshopper staged a nostalgic [Triadism Concert] at the Hong Kong Coliseum on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Grasshopper's formation. A new song plus a selection [Present] and a [Grasshopper shop] followed to end their days in Baoji.

Forever Grasshopper Collection 2007-03-30 Cantonese/Mandarin
Album cover
Album type: EP
Label: BMA
Album Description: Grasshopper, who just completed three "Forever Grasshopper Concert Part II" in February 2007, debuted the top-secret music video of the theme song "Forever" in the concert, which shows the process of the three sons transforming from babies to adults. The video shows the transformation of the three sons from babies to adults. At the end of the video, the three sons show off their round buttocks in full frontal nudity, bringing the audience an unforgettable night of excitement! As usual, the trio performed a number of hot dance routines, including "How come I'm not a woman?", which was a very sexy scene that challenged the third-degree standards. Grasshopper's theme song "Forever" was specially prepared for the concert, and the lyrics of the song showed the love between the three brothers, while the New Year's song "Red Dang Dang", sung by the duo with Twins in 2007, has become the talk of the town. There is a 20-year difference between the two groups' debut times, but they have created a new musical spark! The "Forever Grasshopper Collection" contains a new CD and four concert DVDs, the heavyweight version of the Bonus DVD with six additional music videos, in addition to the theme song "Forever" and the song "Red Dang" sung by Twins. In addition to the theme song "Forever" and the song "Red Dang Dang" sung by Twins, there is also a solo version of "Red Dang Dang Flying Kiss" sung by Grasshopper, which is revealed for the first time! Practice Experiences
Tsai Yi Zhi, Tsai Yijie and Su Zhi Wei were childhood brothers who shared the same interests and love for music and dance. 1985, the three of them formed the group Grasshopper Boy to take part in the "The Fourth China Music Festival". In 1985, the trio formed "Grasshopper Boy" to participate in the "4th New Talent Singing Competition". The song "Rush Together" was adapted from a Japanese song, with lyrics written by the trio, and they showed their talents in singing, composing and dancing. Grasshopper Boy failed to make it to the finals that year, but it was a blessing in disguise. Mui was so impressed by the trio's versatility that she invited them to dance for her, and Grasshopper Boy honored Anita Mui as his master. Grasshopper
Since then, Grasshopper Boy has become Mui's close comrade in arms, singing and dancing for her, honing his singing skills as well as gaining a wealth of stage experience, which added to Mui's performance. In 1988, Grasshopper Boy changed their name to "Grasshopper", signifying that Grasshopper Boy had grown up and became independent, releasing their debut album "Grasshopper". In 1988, Grasshopper Boy changed their name to "Grasshopper", meaning Grasshopper Boy grew up and became independent. The trio became one of the most popular groups in the Hong Kong music industry and won the New Artist Award at the following year's music awards, making them the idols of many young people.
Achievements and Honors
Over the years, Grasshoppers have been working hard to create a unique style of music. In the past, when you think of Grasshoppers, you may only think of words like "young", "pretty", "jumping jacks", "teen idol", etc.. "Nowadays, when you think of Grasshopper, I believe you will think of "maturity", "sincerity" and "strength", Nowadays, when you think of Grasshopper, I believe you will think of "maturity", "sincerity", "strength", and "creator". Nowadays, Grasshopper Three are all very different: Chi is the main songwriter, composing and producing for his master and other singers; Jie is brave enough to participate in various types of music performances; and Siu is continuing to utilize his potential as an actor by taking up movie production. Stage
Grasshopper Guangzhou Concert (20 photos) (recalled by veteran fans) As far as I can remember, the first time Grasshopper and Ah Mei performed on stage was in 1985 at Anita Mui's first solo concert. I was not there to enjoy the show, but only watched the two series of TV broadcasts. Ah Mei introduced them on stage: "Grasshopper Boy!" It was the first time I heard this unfamiliar name, and then I saw the three youngsters bouncing around the stage, singing the Japanese song "24 Hours Kiss" with Mui. At the time, I thought Grasshopper Boys was a Japanese teenage group, really. I don't remember when I realized that Grasshopper Boys were Chinese, and that they were A-Mei's new buddies. It's funny to think of Grasshoppers as Japanese. Records The first time Grasshopper was involved in an A-Mei album was in 1986 when A-Mei's self-titled album featured Grasshopper singing on all the songs, which was a very refreshing experience. The album was a huge hit, with songs such as 'Siren', 'Split the Iceberg', and 'Love Will', and Grasshopper and Mui were a brand new duo that brought a lot of excitement to the music scene. Grasshopper was the only one to sing backup vocals for Mui's album. 1988 Ten Greatest Golden Songs Award Presentation Ceremony Most Popular Newcomer Award Greatest Golden Songs Quarterly Selection Golden Song - Red Lips Kiss Greatest Golden Songs Quarterly Selection Golden Song - Years Burning Rebuke o House Music Scouting O House Music Scouting O House Music Scouting O House Music Scouting - Silver Prize Ten Greatest Chinese Golden Songs Most Promising Newcomer Award - Gold Prize 1990 Ten Greatest Golden Songs Award Presentation Ceremony First Overall Selection Won the Award Songs Songs: "Lost Love" Ten Greatest Hits Best Music Video Performance Award Songs: "Kiss of the Spider Woman" Greatest Hits Seasonal Selection Gold - "Half a Heart" Greatest Hits Seasonal Selection Gold - "Lost Love" Hooting o house music charts Hooting o house music charts combination - Gold Award Ten Greatest Chinese Gold Songs - "Lost Love" IFPI Hong Kong Record Sales Awards - Gold Grasshopper IV" IFPI Hong Kong Record Sales Awards - Platinum "Grasshopper III" 1991 Ten Greatest Golden Songs Award Presentation Ceremony Seventh Overall Selection Winning Song Song: "LONELY" Ten Greatest Golden Songs Best Music Video Performance Award Song: "Forgetful Samba Dance" Powerful Songs Golden Songs Quarterly Selection Golden Songs-"LONELY" Powerful Songs Golden Songs Quarterly Selection Golden Songs -Forget the Samba Dance" 《叱o宅乐坛流行榜》叱o宅乐坛组合 - 金奖十大中文金曲 - 《LONELY》十大中文金曲最佳唱片封套設計獎 《Lonely》(朱祖儿)1992年 叱o宅乐坛流行榜叱o宅乐坛组合- 金奖劲歌金曲季选金曲-《永远爱着 您》 劲歌金曲季选金曲-《三分钟放纵》星新加坡醉心金曲奖 - 最佳組组新城劲爆颁奖礼 - 劲爆組大赏银奖 1993 十大劲歌金曲颁奖典礼- 最佳音乐录像带奖歌曲: 《热力节拍Wo Bom Ba 》叱o宅樂坛流行榜叱o宅乐坛組 - 金奖星新加坡醉心金曲奖 - 最佳組组 1994 Ten Powerful Songs Golden Melody Award Presentation Ceremony Best Music Video Award Song: 《How born is not a woman》叱o宅乐坛流行榜叱o宅乐坛组合 - 金奖星加坡醉心金曲奖 - Best Group Canada Vancouver Chinese Radio - Best Group 1995 叱o宅乐坛流行榜叱o宅乐坛组合- 金奖 1997 叱o宅乐坛流行榜叱o宅乐坛组合- 银奖叱o 宅乐坛10周年大奖叱o宅殿堂十大歌手/组合 叱o宅殿堂十大歌曲-《失恋》,《Lonely 》新城劲爆颁奖礼 - 劲爆组合大赏2005年 十大劲歌金曲颁奖典礼最受欢迎组合奖- 银奖叱o宅乐坛流行榜 Professional Recommendation叱咤十大歌曲:《我们》 叱咤乐坛组合:银奖 新城劲爆颁奖礼 - 劲爆组合大赏劲爆 Song Award - "We" IFPI Hong Kong Record Sales Awards - Top 10 Local Artistes IFPI Hong Kong Record Sales Awards - Top 10 Guangdong Records "Grasshopper Our Concert 05" 2006 Sprite China Original Music Pop Chart - Most Outstanding Combination Award (Hong Kong) Sprite China Original Music Pop Chart - Most Musical Talent Award (Hong Kong) Movie & TV Series "Happy Do Not Speak" is the first movie collaboration between Grasshopper and A-Mei. Happy Never Say Never" is the first movie collaboration between Grasshopper and Ah Mei, and back then, when I went to the theater, I not only watched Ah Mei, but also watched Ah Kit. Recently, I re-watched the movie and found that Grasshopper's acting skills were still young, but Jie as the "rich young man", Tiny as the "friend" and Chi as the "stupid young man" produced a little bit of comedy effect. The three of them are very cute. As for Mui, she looks like an evil person, but in fact, she is tough on the outside but soft on the inside, and her comedic talent is showing. In the movie, Grasshopper is the suitor of Mui's younger sisters. I think it would have been even funnier if they had played Mui's younger brothers. Grasshopper and Mei
Working side-by-side Over the years, Grasshopper and Mei have worked well together on stage: singing and dancing with Mei during the "Sirens" era, guesting at Mei's concerts with Anita Mui, following Mei on her tours, supporting her at her fan gatherings, and countless other spectacular concerts. and countless other spectacular stage performances. Over the years, both at work and in private, master and disciple have supported and encouraged each other, and where there's Ah Mei, there's Grasshopper, and where there's Grasshopper, there's Ah Mei. Now, let's revisit the years when Grasshopper and Mei worked side by side. Between Master and Disciple In Anita Mui's mind, Grasshopper is like younger brothers and takes great care of them. I remember Grasshopper said that every first day of the year, Ah Mei gave them a gold coin in the hope that it would bring them good luck in the coming year. This shows how much Ah Mei cherishes these three disciples, they are close comrades at work and even better brothers in private. In Grasshopper's mind, apart from being a good master, Ah Mei is also a good sister! Grasshopper also said that Mei is a good mentor to them, as she has taught them a lot of life lessons as well as stage knowledge.
Timeline
The Grasshoppers gave their mentor a kiss on May's 23rd birthday in 1986. Grasshopper and Ah Mei were guests of honor for Leslie Cheung's 1986 concert. Grasshopper accompanied Mui to a concert in Singapore in 1986. In 1987, Ah Mui's album "Tango on Fire" was a huge success, so of course, his disciples came to congratulate his master. In 1987, "Ten Greatest Hits", "Split the Iceberg" was one of Mui's winning songs. In 1987, "Grasshopper Boy" was renamed "Grasshopper" and signed with PolyGram Records. Grasshopper and Mui backstage at a concert in 1988. Grasshopper and Mui crying during their last concert in 1988. (If I'm not mistaken, the people in the photo should be Kit and Chi!) In 1988, Ah Mui gave a concert in Macau and Grasshopper performed with the group. In 1988, Grasshopper held its first fan gathering and of course, Ah Mui attended to support her protégé's first time.
