The Dragon Dance, commonly known as the Dragon Lantern Dance, is one of the traditional folk cultural activities of the Han nationality originated in China. The dragon dance originated from the ancient people's worship of the dragon, and people would dance the dragon during festivals, starting from the Spring Festival, and then in February, when the dragon carries its head, and the Dragon Boat Festival. During the dragon dance, the dragon follows the embroidered ball and makes various movements, interspersing and constantly showing various postures such as twisting, swinging, tilting, kneeling, jumping and shaking. So the dragon dance is used to pray for peace and a good harvest.
The Dragon Dance is a traditional sport in which the dancers, guided by the dragon ball and holding the dragon tools, accompanied by drums and music, complete the dragon's game, wear, prancing, leaping, tumbling, rolling, playing and entangling through the changes in the human body's movements and postures to fully display the dragon's essence, vitality, spirit, rhyme and other contents. Folk dragon dance activities are usually carried out in the open-air square or stage.
