The whole square consists of a square main square and a triangular sub-square, and its layout is a planned symmetrical composition, and the main square is cylindrical. The square is divided into five functional areas: assembly area, leisure distribution area, historical and cultural area, mass art area and landscape area. The central assembly area is a sunken circular radiation square, which can accommodate 10000 people. The convex core circle is in the shape of the sun and the moon. The sun-shaped stage consists of nine arc-shaped steps upward, and the moon-shaped pool consists of five groups of fountains, and the water curtain is sprayed as the stage background. The arc granite guardrail is separated, and the guardrail is shaped like a rose bud. The middle fence is engraved with the relief of the ancient eight scenes of the morning sun. The rest area consists of the main entrance, the secondary entrance and the Little Square in the west and north corner. The landscaping area consists of six fan-shaped grasslands and four green areas, with trees and shrubs scattered in layers, forming a unique landscape of seeing Acer truncatum in spring, pomegranate in summer, osmanthus fragrance in autumn and plum blossom snow in winter. On weekends and holidays, the square is always crowded with tourists.
But before 1997, it was still a rural suburb, densely covered with fish ponds, rice fields and low hills. From 65438 to 0997, the Master Plan of Chenzhou City, compiled by China Urban Planning and Design Institute, was issued, and the construction of new urban areas in Chenzhou City opened the prelude to the strategy of "expanding from the south to the east".
