When I first heard the name Hakuji no Mai, I felt its strong sense of romance and beauty. Shirahime no Mai also belongs to a kind of succulent, its rhizome is cylindrical, the edge of the leaf is reddish, serrated. The flowers are pink and open upside down.
The first time I saw Shirahime no Mai was at a friend's house. A small pot of straight, pinkish-green flowers sitting on the bedroom balcony immediately caught my eye. My friend told me that it had a particularly romantic name: "Shirahime no Mai", and I was so in love with it that I asked her for advice on how to cultivate Shirahime no Mai.
1. Soil
Shirahime no Mai is a relatively well-fed succulent, the southern region can be planted in the ground, the north needs to be potted. During its growing period, the soil needs to be slightly moist and avoid waterlogging. The soil is loose sandy loam, soil can be mixed with humus, coarse sand, husk charcoal, the ratio of 2:2:1 or cinder mixed with peat, a small amount of perlite, the ratio is about 6:3:1, the surface of the potting soil can be covered with a layer of river sand. Cultivation can be added to the potting soil in some rotted organic fertilizer as a base fertilizer.
2. Watering
Shirahime no Mai grows from September to June every year, and the potting soil should be watered thoroughly. In summer, when the temperature exceeds 35, the entire plant growth is basically stagnant. Watering should be reduced at this time to prevent root rot caused by excessive moisture in the potting soil. Shirahime no Mai is basically in a waterless condition in winter. In the summer time, it also needs to be watered in trace amounts, otherwise the old leaves will easily dry up. You can water properly at the edge of the pot, about 2 times a month, at night around 7-9 pm to give water, because this time the sun has gone down to go, will not affect the roots of the plant. Also avoid prolonged rain or it will rot.
3. Light
Shirahime no Dance likes sunshine, avoiding hot and humid, can be raised in a sunny, dry environment. In summer, we should pay attention to strengthen ventilation, appropriate shade, avoid exposure to the sun. In winter, it should be placed on the balcony with sufficient ventilation and diffused light. If it lacks sunlight for a long time, Bai Ji Zhi Dance will grow in vain. The leaves become green and spread out, the frost powder becomes less, the leaf spacing is elongated, and the beauty is lost.
4. Temperature
Shirahime no Mai grows at a temperature of about 16 or so, in the case of dry potting soil can accept a minimum of minus 1 or so room temperature, the winter temperature to maintain more than 10, do not go below 5, less than 5 plants will slowly cut off the water. In very sunny conditions with some temperature difference, the leaves of Shirahime no Mai will take on a beautiful pale purple-pink color.
Shirahime no Mai is relatively easy to care for compared to other succulents, but it needs to be carefully cultivated, so that it can produce a more beautiful Shirahime no Mai.
