March of the Volunteers, composed by Tian Han and Nie Er, was born in the great War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period of the Chinese nation, and originally appeared as the theme song of the film "The Son of the Storm" filmed by Dentsu Film Company.
1935 In February, shortly after the script of "The Son of the Storm" was submitted, Tian Han was arrested by the Kuomintang government on charges of "resisting Japan and opposing the government". In order to avoid persecution by the Kuomintang authorities, Nie Er went to Japan before he finished writing his song.
