64th Okawa Citizen's Summer Festival Okawa Hanabi Festival/Saturday, August 3

2019 brings the 64th Hanabi Festival in Okawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The festival will be held in the downstream area of the Chikugo River, and is one of the largest of its kind. 360th Chikugo River Fireworks Festival/Aug. 5 (Mon.)

The fireworks festival in Kurume City has been held for more than 350 years, starting with the Suitengu Shrine inauguration celebration in 1650 (Keian 3). The Niagara and fireworks reflecting the Chikugo River are a powerful sight, and the scale of 18,000 fireworks is one of the largest in Western Japan. The Kyomachi and Koyama venues are located on both sides of the Chikugo River, and the fireworks will be even more spectacular when the corresponding fireworks go up in the air.

Kannon Strait Fireworks Festival/August 13 (Tue)

The 32nd Kannon Strait Fireworks Festival is a joint event between Moji in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and Shimonoseki in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The attractions on the Moji side include a large firework streak and musical fireworks. On the Shimonoseki side, there are large 5-inch fireworks and underwater fireworks. The collaboration of music and fireworks is the biggest attraction of this fireworks festival. "ITOZUYORUZOO ~Night Zoo~" will also be held at the same time.
