The Moonlit Night of Spring River Flowers was originally adapted and renamed by Liu Yaozhang from the traditional pipa song, "Sunset xiaojiao Drums," which expresses the moving scene of people singing and dancing and rocking back to their boats to the accompaniment of xiaojiao drums when the sun is setting. The choreographer gave the piece a new interpretation and a new artistic image.
The dance shows an ancient maiden strolling among the flowers by the river on a moonlit night in spring and fantasizing about a beautiful and happy love life in the future. The dancer wears a blue dress and holds a white feather fan in both hands, and the dance movement vocabulary is all in the style of classical Chinese dance movements, gestures and modeling, through "smelling the flowers", "shining the shadow" (reflecting her own silhouette against the river), Through the episodes of "Smelling Flowers", "Shining Shadow" (reflecting one's own shadow on the river water), "Listening to Bird Songs", "Learning to Fly" and "Imagining Love and Happiness", the dance expresses the specific environment and the thoughts and feelings of the characters.
