Miaoyin, a female, lived around the 6th century B.C. Her birthday is the fourth day of the fourth lunar month. She was a native of Fucheng (the ruins of Fucheng exist in present-day Lizhuang Township). Her father was King Zhuang, and her mother was Baode, the second daughter of King Zhuang. After his third sister, Miao Shan, became the Thousand-Hand Thousand-Eyed Guanyin Bodhisattva, his father, King Zhuang, and his family followed Miao Shan's practice, and Miao Yin became Manjushri Bodhisattva. Manjushri is located at Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province. Manjushri represents wisdom and is the first of all the Bodhisattvas, and is known as the "Great Wisdom Manjushri".
