Flying Tigers was an anti-Japanese armed force active in Zaozhuang, Shandong Province during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, belonging to the Sulu detachment of the Fifth Division of the Eighth Route Army. Founded on June 25th, 1940, it is called the Railway Corps of Lunan Military Region, with Hong Zhenhai as the battalion chief and Du Jiwei as the political commissar.
The main force of the Lunan Military Region is short of medicine due to long-term operations. Zhang Guangzhong, commander of the Lunan Military Region, and Wang Lushui, political commissar, ordered the Railway Corps to try to get medicines.
Railway soldiers often send guerrillas on the train and find cars full of drugs. The train was running between Shagou and Tanghu Station, and the soldiers quickly got off the train and were transported away by the ambush team. The Railway Corps transported these medicines to the Lunan Military Region in time.
A series of actions of the Railway Corps made great contributions to the Shandong Military Region during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period.
Extended data:
1On August 5th, 945, Japan announced its unconditional surrender. At the same time, Zhu De, commander-in-chief of the Eighth Route Army, ordered the Japanese troops in North China and East China to immediately lay down their weapons and surrender to the local anti-Japanese armed forces.
However, after several negotiations, the Japanese troops stationed in Lincheng always refused to hand over arms to the railway team. When the remaining Japanese armored train quietly left Lincheng Station at night and drove near Shagou south of Lincheng, it was found that the railway ahead had been destroyed.
When they tried to return to Lincheng again, the explosives buried by the railway team sounded ahead of time, and the Japanese retreat was cut off. After three days of isolation and hunger, the Japanese army could not hold on any longer and had to surrender to the railway soldiers.
1June, 945, Zaozhuang and Lincheng 1000 Japanese troops surrendered to the railway corps with 8 heavy machine guns, more than 0/30 light machine guns and 2 mountain guns.
