About four years ago, in the summer of my sophomore year, after studying in Shaanxi paper-cutting studio for a month, Tang Mingxing fell in love with this traditional skill. A knife, a piece of paper, several perforations and several transformations have formed countless vivid and exquisite works, which he finds amazing. Half a year later, he brought this hobby to the Yuan 'an area of Hongyang Company with the enthusiasm of serving the country in space. Although the construction of the new third line has been going on, compared with the metropolis, the cultural life of Dashan is still monotonous. When his peers were still worried about the lack of large shopping malls, modern libraries, commercial streets and other entertainment facilities, he silently took out his own meat cleaver and began his first creation from learning to doing.
Two months later, the first work "Lucky for Money" was released: in a wide frame, a gorgeous peacock opened its screen in a stunning way, and the patterns on its huge feathers were all clear. This painting basically reflects all his leisure time when he first joined the company. It starts at 7 o'clock every night and ends at 1 1. When the square dance sweeping across the country surged in the mountains, he quietly cultivated his desk and talked silently with paper-cutting. On that day, Tang Mingxing solemnly walked down the street with paper-cuts, found an exquisite shop, carefully mounted it, and then carefully hung it on the wall. Paper-cutting painting is stable, but he is also stable: three lines, paper-cutting and aerospace really match.
Paper-cutting is a particularly meticulous manual work. In addition to being patient and meticulous, there are also considerable requirements for tools and environment, such as sharp and smooth tools and clean environment. Although it is a hollow plastic art, there are still many supplementary places to be done if we want to do it well. In order to operate better, Tang Mingxing humbly asked the fitter in the team for advice and made a set of working tools, including scissors, meat cutters, various models and various openings. The wax plate used to fix the operation is only 45cm wide and 1.2m long, so the operation is a little cramped. Tang Mingxing made his own fire boiler to bake wax, then smeared the melted candle on the plywood he found, and scraped it flat again and again, creating a huge workbench with a width of 80 cm and a length of 1.8 m. It is this workbench that gives him a more ambitious creative goal-to make a paper-cut of the Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival, which is 2 meters long and 80 centimeters wide. He said that the workbench of the trench must match the work of the trench before it can be installed correctly.
The process of creation is pleasant, but it is not smooth sailing. Because of the toughness of the paper itself, it is often a careless move, and all bets are off. I remember that it took me half a month to carve a dragon. I didn't expect that in the end, in order to pursue the perfection of the details of the dragon beard, I made an extra move, and dozens of connected lines broke two at once. This kind of paper-cut with thin outline won't stick together and can only be thrown away with a sigh. In a rage, Tang Mingxing threw a meat cleaver and stuck it on the wax board. After the round knife rotates on the panel for one week, he silently smoothes the traces, washes his hands and starts over. Two years later, the original smooth wax plate was riddled with holes, and every mark had a story of settling down and competing with impetuousness. In order to make his works more aesthetic as a whole, Tang Mingxing also taught himself PS technology. Through the treatment of patterns, he further reflected the contrast between Yin and Yang, and strengthened the outline of his works. Now he is still practicing calligraphy at the same time. "A good paper-cut painting with good words can add icing on the cake." For Tang Xing, choosing this hobby can not only give full play to the research spirit and practical ability of astronauts in all aspects, but also choose a clean and elegant lifestyle. In order to put his beloved works, he tidied up the hut less than 20 square meters neatly and divided it into two parts: the living area is compact and simple, and the working area is cheerful and spacious.
"I didn't expect a boy to have such a clever hand!" "Young man, it's good to have tenacity!" After four years' accumulation, Tang Xing's works not only made their mark in various professional exhibitions, but also turned his hut into a work exhibition room filled with all kinds of wonderful works. Influenced by him, some friends also joined the paper-cutting sequence: "It is also a contribution to inheriting traditional culture." Paper-cutting, cutting off unnecessary edges and corners, has been nourished in various ways. Tang Mingxing did a decent job of removing superfluous things and scraping putty in the final assembly, as well as a lot of meticulous and trivial work. "Compared with the mane carved on the ponytail, these are nothing at all." Perhaps it is this extreme contrast that makes Tang Xing particularly grateful and devoted to his work.
