The "Hymn" was composed by Hu Songhua in 1964, who was commissioned by Premier Zhou and the commanding officer of the Grand Song and Dance Department of the Oriental Red and composed the lyrics and arrangement overnight. This "Hymn" is one of the works of the large-scale dance epic "The East is Red", and is also one of Hu Songhua's masterpieces. The music is an original first half of the four "wordless new long tune" and the latter part of the "diversified short tune folk song" between the new "marriage combination" of singing.
