When Yuan Miao was young, she had a wish: not to live past the age of 40. Because she saw her mother's generation sighing and worrying all the time, the beauty of a woman in those days was squeezed to the edges, and what was left was the dullness and repetition of trivial days. No, she is not going to live such a lifeless life.
But the big system of life has its own beauty. Sometimes, you desperately fight for may not belong to you, and perhaps hard to push back, on the contrary, is that the destiny of the road.
Before she turned forty, she was a documentary director at the international department of China Central Television (CCTV), working on several documentaries related to humanities, nature, religion and environmental protection. She had a good life, a happy family, and a honeyed life.
At the age of forty, after losing her son, quitting her job, and getting divorced, she went to the United States to meditate.
After forty years old, all kinds of rapid changes in the pattern of life, death, separation, dispersal, extinction, she used to reject, and then learned to naturally go with the flow, listening to the clear guidance of the heart to go to the United States, and naturally set up the "New Century Foundation", spreading the phoenix energy: a combination of joyful yoga, chanting, and spiritual paintings, and so on. The New Century Foundation was established in the United States.
It was more than ten years ago that I came to the United States and met my painter friend Diana.
What I remember most clearly is that she often wore two different colored socks on her feet, and in her studio she had some strange things, like a homemade "flying machine". Sometimes she hangs from it and paints like a dragonfly on the water. Recently, she added a "big coffin" similar to the excavated artifacts, which is filled with colors, and she seeped the canvas into the big coffin to let the colors "ferment".
In addition, her hair is half white and half purple, in this French bleaching and dyeing under the cover of the mind, every day thinking about the I Ching eight trigrams, but also flew across the ocean to Huairou, Beijing, on the roof of the "on the garden art gallery" at their own expense to build a set of eight trigrams in the I Ching nine palace.
I introduced her this way, because she had taught me to paint, because for a person who is known as a "spiritual artist", even if the level of painting is not good at all, to know "a drop of grace in return," the basic principles of human behavior.
About ten years ago, I told Diana, "You paint the light, you paint the phoenix, you paint this, you paint that. ......"
She said, "Tell me, what does it look like? "
I couldn't tell, and then she said, "I have no way to draw it, you go draw it yourself."
After that, I kept describing to her what I "saw", and she always replied, "Draw it yourself."
Finally, six years ago, I went to her studio and said, "From today on, you are my teacher. She laughed and said, "I guarantee you can't learn." Then she put up a fruit and a vase and said, "This is what you will paint in the next three days."
I took a pencil and looked at the fruit and the vase in a daze. Diana said, "Observe their proportions, chiaroscuro and structure." Said quickly and skillfully drew a few strokes. I said, "I'd like to get in your craft and fly and draw."
She said, "I studied art in Italy, how many years after studying before becoming what I am now, you have no foundation, how do you want to fly?" I looked at the vase and always felt like something was missing, and ended up filling it with water, putting in a flower, eating the fruit, and then painting it halfway with my heart.
Diana looked at it and said, "Like a big pineapple with leaves ...... I can't teach you, you've graduated."
Back to China, asked his good friend Yang Yang, whether he knew a painter friend, I want to learn some basic common sense. Yang Yang said she has a classmate is a painter, and agreed to introduce.
A few days later, in a dream, I "saw" a middle-aged man in a suit and glasses, who came to me with a smile and an antique key in his hand, which looked like it was made of copper, just like the ones used by the old Chinese. He gave me that key and then the whole dream disappeared.
In the morning, I woke up and received a phone call from Yang Yang, saying that my painter classmate wanted to meet with me, and then the painter (and entrepreneur) called Mr. Ran Wen Ji appeared kindly in a suit and glasses, although he did not have a key in his hand, but he said, "I know a person who can teach you this kind of without any foundation. "
Soon I met Mr. Liu Kengtao, who told me to take a brush and draw something random, so I did, and it looked like dancing Wu Song. Mr. Liu said, "Your kind of playfulness is a bit interesting." After that I went to Singapore, Malaysia, and changed planes in Guangzhou before returning to the United States.
Mr. Liu went out of his way to fly to Guangzhou for three days to teach the basics of ink painting. His important teachings are as follows:
Painting is not like painting, there is reason in "messy" painting, and there is naivety in your "painting reason". "Play" is also the theory of painting, many people can not accept this theory of painting, painting is dead.
What you paint is the concept of spiritual energy, which many painters can not paint. Your paintings are not skillful, but your childlike mind and superconscious spirituality can help a lot.
A false message from a book is not as good as a true message. Mr. Liu's words support me to play on a forthright basis! When we are born, we breathe naturally, we smile naturally, our bodies swing naturally, and our mouths make natural sounds, but can we paint naturally?
Drawing is another form of manifesting our interest in nature and our curiosity about life! A state of mind devoid of interest and curiosity is old age, whereas children derive their vigor and joy from their curiosity and interest. And the practice of Yoga of the Mind is the panacea for returning to the basics and returning to the old.
When you enter the corresponding combination of Yoga, your breath becomes the wind, the wind falls to the ground and becomes a line, the wind dissolves into color, the color glows, and the light dispels the dark clouds of the mind. When the wind is in color, the color glows and the light dispels the dark clouds of the mind, and when the wind is in water, the water follows the circle and goes where it is supposed to go, combining the energies in a natural way.
In that space and time, you make the mind visible. This tangible phase is called Yoga painting, which is called "Shakti Yantra" in Sanskrit, and "Shakti" is cosmic energy, and "Yantra" means Shakti" is cosmic energy and "Yantra" means symbols or figures of superconscious spiritual energy that can free one from bondage, like Mantra with its superconscious spiritual vibrations, both of which can direct the mind to a finer level.
In another sense, "seeing" melodies and harmonies is fun and interesting, and can be a romantic encounter with the higher energies of the universe!
Some of the paintings with sounds are a combination of Mantra and Yantra, I hope you like them. I am a free color outside the circle of painters, a natural sound outside the circle of musicians, I live in the realm of "water", which flows into the eyes and is called "painting", into the ears and is called "chanting", into the heart and is called "painting", and into the heart and is called "chanting". I live in the realm of "water", which flows into the eyes as "painting", into the ears as "chanting", and into the heart as "love".
-- From the preface of "Source River's Superconscious Sound and Painting"
Let us praise the feminine and masculine energies of the universe. Returning to the state of a simple child, a child who understands and is blessed, please praise the Cosmic Mother, the Cosmic Father, on behalf of all your ancestors throughout the generations. That is going back to the source.
No matter how many things happen in our lives, what is the greatest purpose of human life? It is to be alive. The basic state of being alive is one breath in and one breath out. Take a deep breath and slowly shift your attention from observing small worries to observing one breath.
That year, I went to Lijiang to climb the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to see the rainbow, the Tea Horse Road to listen to the horseman singing, but also observed the shaman's prayer rituals, live in the old city found a kind of Dongba paper. I think such a rough paper handmade with snowy mountain plants, may be more suitable to carry the prayers of the snowy mountains. I chose some of it and brought it back to the United States and created these dongba paintings.
I did a retreat at a place called Baja.
Baja is an archipelago in Mexico, rich in marine ecology and characterized by the Moon Valley and the ruins of primitive Indian villages.
During the days of the retreat, I saw a huge phoenix descend from the sky and land on a mountaintop, its long tail merging with the evening sun, and it stretched its head across the plains and rivers until it was in front of me, gazing at me in beautiful serenity ......
The ancient Eastern tradition of the "Phoenix Nirvana" is very important. "The ancient Eastern traditions have the same myths and legends about the phoenix rising from the ashes.
Let the phoenix in your life be reborn from all the ashes! The "tai lai" is the phoenix rising ......
There is a secret meaning in the hair. A crown of flowers woven from the hair of the Empyrean Mother is a beautiful romantic story among the various legendary treasures of the world, which not only honors the spiritual evolution carried by both the father's essence and the mother's blood, but also has a much deeper significance. Like the Yellow River, Yangtze River and Yarlung Tsangpo River, it flows from the source to the sea.
