The eighth day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar is a folk cultural festival of the Zhuang people, which is called "Wei Feng Festival" in Luwei Township, Binyang County. On this day, the Zhuang people perform songs and dances, which is as lively as the Spring Festival.
To celebrate the arrival of this grand festival and to look forward to the future, the Zhuang people of Luwei Township, Binyang County, donated money to cast a bronze ox in the town square and held an eye-opening ceremony at 8 a.m. on the eighth day of the fourth month.
In addition to the eye-opening ceremony of the sacred ox, the festival activities of the "Wei Feng Festival" also include singing of mountain songs and folklore evenings.
More than 85 percent of the village's population is of Zhuang ethnicity, and it is the "concentric folk culture village" of Binyang County, which was selected as one of the first traditional villages in the autonomous region.
On the eighth day of the fourth month, an annual traditional festival of the blue-clothed Zhuang, the villagers, dressed in their blue clothes, gather on the banks of the Sanqiao River, where there are beautiful mountains and trees, and sing about their new life through folk cultural activities such as singing songs, dancing with cows, and dancing with colorful butterflies.
For thousands of years, the villagers have passed down the "five words of Zhuang Huan" songs through the "Wei Feng Festival" on the eighth day of the fourth month.
