Basic skills of saxophone playing (3) saxophone playing skills

Decorative tone is one of the commonly used color techniques in saxophone performance, which usually includes leaning tone, Boeing, vibrato, echo, vibrato and so on. Can be used alone or continuously. Fingers should be flexible and neat when playing, and pronunciation should be accurate and clean. Let's take a look at their features and functions.

Tilting sound: There are two kinds of tilting sound: forward tilting sound and backward tilting sound. It is to add one or more short notes before or after the tonic (original sound) to form a wonderful musical effect. Its main points are long nourishing time and short learning time. The faster the speed, the shorter the tilting sound. The head of the pitch forward is on the pitch, and then the Legato is followed by the tonic. Then the first sound of leaning is on the tonic, and then the Legato and leaning are connected together.

This technique is often used to imitate bird songs. For example, our national music "Morning in Miao Ling" and foreign music "Lark" make good use of this technique. Vivid birdsong in music has distinct characteristics.

Boeing: There are upper Boeing and lower Boeing. That is, after the tonic (original sound), add a note and then return to the tonic (original sound). A note above the tonic is called Boeing, and a note below the tonic is called Boeing. The front tonic is short, the back tonic is long, and the pronunciation is on the front tonic, followed by the Legato. The added tone must be short. In other words, Boeing has three tones, the first two are short and the last one is long.

Boeing has greatly increased the color of music, which is often used for variations or cadenzas.

Vibrato: In wind music, vibrato can be divided into palatal vibrato, laryngeal vibrato, chest vibrato, abdominal vibrato (commonly known as respiratory vibrato) and finger vibrato. It should be noted that the duration of vibrato should be accurate enough. The speed of breathing vibrato must correspond to the speed of music. Finger vibrato must be uniform, and it can accelerate or decelerate evenly when it is scattered or handled freely. Uniformity is also emphasized here.

Tremolo also plays a special role in music.

Breath vibrato is one of the most commonly used techniques, and kung fu can only be effective if it is practiced with heart for many years. Like a violin rubbing strings, soft and sweet. Such as My Motherland, The Same Song, Godfather, Night in Harlem, etc.

Finger vibrato is also one of the most commonly used techniques, and flexibility and accuracy are important guarantees for kung fu at the fingertips. In the introduction of the familiar violin concerto "butterfly lovers", the flute introduced people into the love story of butterfly lovers with the vibrato of fingers. Later, many saxophonists also adapted and interpreted the saxophone version of Butterfly Lovers, and also used vibrato to achieve beautiful and moving results.

Echo: Also known as cyclotron. There are two kinds of echoes: upper echo and lower echo. It means adding a note after the tonic, then returning to the tonic, adding another note, and then returning to the tonic. Two additional notes, one higher than the tonic and the other lower than the tonic, form an upper echo; On the contrary, the two added notes, one lower than the tonic and the other higher than the tonic, constitute the lower echo. It should be noted that the first tonic is relatively long, and the five tones in the echo must be within the marked tone length and cannot be dragged.

Echo is often used in European classical music. Especially in indoor performance, it is indispensable, making the music very beautiful, gorgeous and beautiful.

Tremolo: refers to the uniform alternation of two sounds within a specified time. It will produce strange effects in music. Vibrato can often be heard in Mongolian music and Ma Touqin's performance in China.

In fact, vibrato is one of the clarinet playing techniques. Later, it was applied to the performance of saxophone, which made saxophone technology more comprehensive and perfect.
