Jazz music, known as "the only art form originated in the United States", comes directly from black people. Jazz is the transliteration of JAZZ, and there are different opinions on its meaning. At the end of the 19th century, there was a square called Congo in New Orleans. Every Sunday and holiday evening, some black farmers from the cotton fields and black boatmen on the Mississippi River, carrying their African skin drums and banjos, gather in the square to sing and dance. The tune they hum has no fixed score and no formal accompaniment. The drums and banjos played only short ditties. Between each section, the musician can "improvise" a section. Soon some bands specializing in marching music in New Orleans merged with the singing and dancing in Congo Square. Later, the so-called blues tune was adopted based on the sad and resentful songs played and sung by a wandering black singer. The original text of blues means "blue", and it also means sadness, so it is called "elegy".

After the emergence of jazz music, various genres also appeared, one-sidedly pursuing excitement, excitement, and being unconventional. However, in this wave of development, a serious jazz concerto appeared: "Rhapsody in Blue", Its author is American composer Gershwin (1898--1937). This jazz concerto not only maintains the main characteristics of jazz music, such as improvisational style, strong syncopation... but also has a higher style and seriousness as well as some characteristics of classical traditional music. Its performance was a huge success and influenced the use of jazz music in American and other composers' works.
