Pinglu Canal is an important sea passage in Guangxi inland waterway planning, with a total length of about 133 km. It starts at the Pingtang River mouth of Xijin Reservoir in Hengxian County, crosses the watershed along the Shaping River south, enters the south of Qinjiang River through Lingshan Luwu Town, and goes to Qinzhou Shajing to go to sea. Most of the canals were rebuilt on the existing Shaping River and Qinjiang River.
There are mainly 6 kilometers of rivers in the basin, which need new excavation. The whole canal has a drop of 60 meters and can be navigable for 3000 tons of ships. The total investment of the canal is about 60 billion yuan. After the completion, the mileage of Nanning from Qinzhou Port to the sea via Pinglu Canal is only 29 1 km, which is more than 560 kilometers shorter than that via Guangdong.
Pinglu Canal is located at the downstream of Nanning 15 1 km, starting from Pingtang estuary of Xijin Hydropower Station in Hengxian County in the north, crossing Pingtang River, tributaries of Qinjiang River and Xiaoxijiang River Basin, passing through Luwu along Qinjiang River to Qinzhou Port in the southern Beibu Gulf, and ending at Shajing Port at the outlet of Qinjiang River in the south. The waterway is about 125 km, and the actual land area is about 20 km. This is a coastal canal connecting rivers and oceans.
