How many venues are there in Beijing for the Winter Olympics?

There are six venues in Beijing for the Winter Olympics.

They are: the National Aquatics Center, the National Stadium, the Wukesong Sports Center, the Shougang Ski Jump, the Capital Stadium and the National Speed Skating Complex.

National Swimming Center.

Events/competitions: curling/wheelchair curling.

The National Aquatics Center is another iconic venue from the 2008 Beijing Olympics that will be reused in 2022. The square design of the venue, which hosted swimming, diving and synchronized swimming events in 2008, earned it the nickname "Water Cube.

The Water Cube was transformed into the Ice Cube for the Winter Olympics, where curling will be held, and the multi-purpose venue will continue to serve both winter and summer sports after the 2022 Games, switching between the two depending on the season.

The National Stadium.

Events/games: ice hockey/sled hockey.

Also known as the "fan" because of its design, which resembles a traditional Chinese folding fan, the National Stadium was built for the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has hosted artistic gymnastics, trampoline, and handball competitions. 2015 saw the hosting of the Women's Ice Hockey World Championship, which will be held in conjunction with the Wukesong Sports Center. during which it will host the 2022 Winter Olympics ice hockey tournament along with the Wukesong Sports Center***.

Wukesong Sports Center.

Hosted activities/events: ice hockey.

The Wukesong Sports Center has been fully utilized as a multi-purpose arena for many years, ever since the 2008 Beijing Olympics hosted the basketball tournament. The 18,000-seat Wukesong Arena will join the National Stadium as the main arena for ice hockey at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

The National Speed Skating Stadium.

Hosted activities/events: speed skating.

The National Speed Skating Center, nicknamed the "Ice Ribbon," will host speed skating at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The Capital Stadium.

Hosting activities/events: short track speed skating, figure skating.

After hosting the volleyball competition at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the Capital Stadium will host figure skating and short-track speed skating during the Winter Olympics.

Shougang Ski Jump.

Hosting activities/events: freestyle skiing big jump, snowboarding big jump.

Arguably the most unique venue for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is the Shougang Ski Jump, which is built on the site of the Shougang steel mill and surrounded by four industrial cooling towers.
