Confucius is the originator of Confucianism, living in the late Spring and Autumn period. He was the most influential thinker and educator in the history of China.
Ren is the core of Confucius' thought. Confucius had many interpretations of benevolence, such as "benevolence is to love others" and "do not do unto others as you would not have them do unto you", and he advocated mediation and harmonization of human relationships in society with a heart of love.
Mencius was the representative of Confucianism in the Warring States period, and was honored as the "Sage of Asia", second only to Confucius. Mencius advocated the idea that people are inherently good, that is, they are born good. He put forward the idea of "the people are the most important thing, the gods of earth and grain come second, and the king is the least important thing", and opposed the tyrannical government and brutal class rule, he also advocated to give the peasants a certain amount of land, and not to infringe on the peasants' labor time, and to safeguard the interests of the peasants.
