Li Lingyu (李玲玉), born April 9, 1963 in Shanghai, China, and originally from Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, is a Chinese mainland singer and actress.

Li Lingyu was born in Shanghai to an ordinary working family with her parents and two older brothers, and attended Shanghai Hulin Middle School and Fudan Affiliated High School. When the Beijing Red Flag Yueju Opera Troupe came to Shanghai to recruit actors, Li Lingyu was one of the two selected out of more than 5,000 candidates. She was then sent to study at the Shengzhou School of Yueju Opera in Zhejiang province, where she specialized in the Xiao Sheng Xu School. She played Jia Baoyu in the Yueju opera Dream of the Red Chamber.

In 1983, the troupe was disbanded, and in the same year, by chance, Li Lingyu was not selected for the first time to take the examination of the Oriental Song and Dance Troupe. 1984, Li Lingyu applied for the examination of the Oriental Song and Dance Troupe again, and the Troupe wanted to rehearse an Asian-African-Latin American song and dance party, and was short of an actor who could sing and dance well, so the troupe found Li Lingyu and gave her a tape to go back to practise, and she passed the examination successfully one week later, and was selected by the record company.

Li Lingyu was selected by a record producer and moved to the pop music scene.

Li Lingyu's acting experience

On November 24, 2012, she held a concert at the Beijing Exhibition Theater. On December 5 of the same year, she released the EP "Smells Like Li Lingyu" and announced the establishment of her personal studio.

On January 5, 2013, she held a concert at the Shanghai Grand Theater. In March of the same year, she served as a judge for the 15th Youth Song Contest Shandong Region.

On November 13, 2020, she appeared in Hunan TV's national music interactive variety show, "Sing and Spin 2", and sang "The Girl of the Zhuzhu".

On December 30, 2021, she starred in "Big Mother's World", in which she played Wang Yutian.

On December 23, 2022, the sitcom "Family Sisters" in which she starred aired.

On January 22, 2023, she participated in the "2023 Jiangsu Satellite TV Spring Festival Gala" and sang the song "Keeping "Zhu" Waiting for Rabbits" with Wu Bixia; on the same day, she participated in the "2023 Beijing Broadcasting Television Station Spring Festival Gala" and performed the song and dance "Keeping Spring Light". On February 4, he participated in the "2022 National Drama Ceremony"; on February 5, he participated in the "2023 Jiangsu TV Lantern Festival Gala" and sang the song "Pink Memories".
