Speech on Garbage Classification and Environmental Protection 1 Dear teachers and students,
The earth is beautiful homeland where we live. However, with the improvement of economy and living standards, the amount of garbage has increased sharply and the environment has become worse and worse.
It is reported that the daily discharge of domestic garbage in Guangzhou can reach 1. 780,000 tons, equivalent to the weight of 4,450 adult elephants. What is even more frightening is that Guangzhou's annual garbage discharge is increasing at a rate of 5% to 10%. According to experts' estimation, Guangzhou will be surrounded by garbage if its current garbage terminal processing capacity can be maintained for 20xx years at most.
The cost of burying a ton of garbage is about RMB from 200 yuan to 300 yuan, and with more and more landfills, these cost burdens will be staggering. In addition, the abandoned landfill is no longer cultivated land, so it is impossible to build a living quarter. Although the garbage burned at high temperature will not occupy a lot of land, the cost is high, which increases the risk of secondary pollution. The choice of waste incineration site has been controversial in Guangzhou for a long time, and it has not been concluded for almost two years, which is enough to prove the problems behind this treatment method. Whether it is landfill or burning garbage, it is a useless waste of earth resources. We constantly turn our limited resources into garbage, bury or burn them. Where will we live in the future?
Can't we do something about the garbage? No, garbage sorting has been proved to be an effective treatment method.
Garbage classification is to put them at the source of garbage, recycle useful substances, turn waste into treasure, avoid environmental pollution caused by landfill or incineration, and save land resources.
On April 1 this year, Guangzhou issued and implemented the first domestic domestic domestic waste classification regulation-Interim Provisions on the Classification Management of Urban Domestic Waste in Guangzhou, which clearly stipulated that domestic waste should be classified from the aspects of delivery, collection, transportation and disposal. Domestic waste is divided into four categories, including recyclables, kitchen waste, harmful waste and other wastes.
Garbage sorting is no stranger to thrifty people in China since ancient times. Recently, in the 1950s and 1960s when New China was founded, there was a scene of vigorously recycling waste products: toothpaste peels were reserved for recycling, orange peels were used for pharmacy, biological wastes were used for composting, and waste cloth ends and ink bottles were all reused. The sorted garbage not only avoids the pollution of garbage, but also provides raw materials for industry and agriculture. At present, as an industry, garbage recycling has developed rapidly in many developed countries. Take Baltimore, Washington and Richmond as examples. In the past, it cost $40 to recycle garbage per 1 ton. After sorting, these recycled garbage created 5 100 jobs in 1995. Although these three cities are only a small area in the United States, their garbage recycling not only saves the cost of garbage disposal, but also creates a wealth of 500 million US dollars.
Garbage sorting is becoming a worldwide trend, but in China, which used to be the world leader in this field, this fine tradition of thrift is gradually drifting away from us. Someone said, "Other countries learned to pick up from us, but China learned to throw from others." This is a portrayal of our reality. With the development of China's economy and the enhancement of national strength, people's lives have improved, so we will not be stingy with the few cents we get from selling garbage, but would rather throw them away as garbage. Each of us is a garbage maker. Isn't the garbage mountain all piled by our family? We are also victims of garbage. Do we and our descendants have to bear the consequences of those garbage mountains devouring resources and polluting the environment? It is time for us to make a change! We should be the managers of garbage pollution, and each of us can overcome garbage pollution through garbage classification.
Garbage classification creates a society without garbage, a society with recycling resources, and all this only needs our little efforts. As an important symbol to measure the degree of urban civilization, waste reduction and waste classification are closely related to urban development and people's happiness, and need our active participation and strong support.
Paying attention to environmental protection means caring about our planet and saving our humanity. The secondary school affiliated to CUHK has been doing a good job in environmental awareness and environmental action. Now our local government promotes garbage sorting in the form of laws and regulations, which gives us the best reason to continue to do environmental protection.
When the green disappears a little bit on the earth, when the garbage gradually invades our home, don't let happiness go away with a sigh, let's act quickly!
To this end, I propose to the majority of students: to establish a green, low-carbon, environmentally friendly and healthy life concept, and to develop a civilized living habit of caring for the environment, being diligent and thrifty, making the best use of everything and reducing abandonment. Garbage sorting, start with me! Starting today!
Thank you!
Speech on Garbage Classification and Environmental Protection 2 Dear leaders, teachers and dear students,
Good Morning, everyone!
We are xxx from Class 4 (3), and the theme of our speech today is "Strive to be a small environmental guardian of national green schools".
Facing the dawn rising in Ran Ran under the blue sky, we once again held this solemn and grand flag-raising ceremony. Watching the national flag Ran Ran rise, the national anthem echoed in my ears. At this moment, my heart is surging. This bright red five-star red flag is a symbol of our Chinese nation. It always reminds us to love our motherland, peace, nature and environment.
Have you ever thought about it when we walked into Nanyou Primary School surrounded by green trees facing the sunrise? You have lived and studied in a beautiful campus full of green. You really want to be happy and proud of this! Modern teaching building, lush trees and colorful flowers are welcoming us. Walking in this green landscape of campus will make you feel refreshed and relaxed.
We often see many students picking up peels and scraps of paper in every corner of the campus; Protect the beautiful campus environment with your own hands. However, we still have some shortcomings: for example, we can't classify garbage scientifically and reasonably. In fact, garbage sorting is also a kind of environmental protection-green environmental protection.
So, how to carry out garbage classification management? First of all, we should know which garbage can be recycled and which can't be recycled.
Recyclable garbage mainly includes five categories: waste paper, plastic, glass, metal and cloth, and should be put into recyclable garbage bins.
Non-recyclable garbage: such as rotten garbage, kitchen garbage, fruit shells, flowers and plants, clothes, etc. , put it in a non-recyclable trash can.
Toxic and harmful wastes: such as waste batteries, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, electronic components, medicines, radioactive substances, bottles and cans containing toxic substances, etc. , put it in another designated trash can.
According to figures released by relevant departments, the total amount of garbage in China is about 500 million tons each year, with a value of 25 billion yuan, of which more than 70% can be recycled. One ton of waste paper can make 800 kilograms of paper; One ton of waste plastic can extract 700 kilograms of gasoline; Recycling cans and glass bottles can save more than 90% of the material cost; Disposable wooden chopsticks can be used to make paper; Biological waste can be made into high-quality fertilizer; Irrecoverable scraps of paper and cloth ends can still be burned to generate electricity.
Students, garbage is both harmful and valuable. From the perspective of industrial ecology, garbage is a misplaced resource and a raw material mine that will be used one day. As students of national green schools, we should take active actions, store garbage in different categories, and protect the green homes that provide us with learning with practical actions. This is our unshirkable responsibility and our duty.
Dear students, in order to beautify our campus environment and build a green campus, let's take action, take green as the main theme of our lives, pay attention to environmental changes with love, spread the concept of environmental protection with enthusiasm, and shoulder the heavy responsibility of environmental protection with action. Together in a blue sky, help each other in the same boat, and strive to be the environmental protection guardian of the national green school with green practical actions.
Our speech is over, thank you!
Speech on Garbage Classification and Environmental Protection 3 Teachers and students:
Good Morning, everyone!
The topic of my speech under the national flag today is: practicing environmental protection under the dome.
Recently, some aunts in Xicheng continued to dance square dance in foggy days, causing cough and asthma attacks. First of all, I hope my aunts will recover soon. At the same time, I am also surprised that the square dance that human beings can't stop was defeated by smog! Where is the smog? So powerful!
Haze is actually a combination of fog and haze. Fog is water vapor condensate composed of small water droplets or ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere, not pollution. Haze refers to the turbidity caused by a large number of particles such as smoke and dust suspended in the air, which will cause air pollution, and its core substance is dust particles. Fog and haze often accompany each other and sometimes can be transformed into each other, so they are collectively called "haze weather".
Haze will endanger traffic safety, ecological environment and human health. When smog occurs, bacteria and viruses are often carried in the air, which easily leads to the spread of infectious diseases and the occurrence of various diseases. Speaking of foggy weather in winter, if we encounter serious air pollution, it may form poisonous fog, which seriously threatens people's health. If inhaled for a long time, serious people will die.
In order to resist smog, various methods to prevent smog are circulating on the Internet. For example, grapefruit peel is used as an anti-smog mask, and even cigarette filters are inserted in the nostrils to prevent smog, not to mention whether these methods are useful. Such a "heavy taste" is not affordable for everyone. So, what can be done to effectively prevent smog? Don't open the window in foggy days, wait for the smog to disappear, and then open the window for air after the sun rises. Minimize going out, cancel morning exercises, wear a mask when going out, and wash exposed skin immediately after you come back. Usually drink more water, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, eat less irritating food, and eat more foods such as pears, oranges and lilies that have lung moistening effects. A classmate said to me, "Teacher Han, in order to prevent smog, I will not drink coke in the future, but drink rock sugar and Sydney drinks every day." Actually, water is the best drink! Supplementing more vitamin D can promote calcium supplementation, and not basking in the sun in foggy days will affect the body's production of vitamin D. Here I would also like to talk about professional throat protection. Professional throat users, such as teachers, are more likely to have throat problems in foggy days. I suggest that I use my voice as little as possible in foggy days. I'm learning oral skills recently. To keep the indoor temperature and humidity, you can drink some chrysanthemum and wolfberry tea. Besides self-protection, what can we do for the air?
Next Monday, we will celebrate World Meteorological Day on March 23rd. The theme of this year is-Climate knowledge supports climate action. Teachers and students, think about how long we haven't seen the blue sky. Let's take Meteorological Day as an opportunity to take active actions and use what we have learned to support the prevention and control of smog. Under the dome, practicing environmental protection, "Wuxi Blue" will stay in the sky forever one day.
Thank you!
