One of them, the Ying Ge Dance, is one of the main treasures left over from China's history and culture, which has been passed down to the present day and has existed for more than 300 years. It is popular in the Chaoshan area of Guangdong (Shantou, Jieyang, Chaozhou and Shanwei). Among them, Puning Ying Ge was honored as one of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritages in 2006; in 2008, as one of the representative teams of the "Guangdong Literary and Artistic Olympic Corps", it was performed at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, creating a warm atmosphere for the opening of the Beijing Olympic Games; the Ying Ge Dance is a kind of folk square dance that combines dance, opera and martial arts. The dancers hold a short wooden stick in each hand, known as the English song mallet.
