According to Wang Xiaoan, chief architect of Modern Design Group East China Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd, the Performing Arts Center is very creative in the design of the venue, and its uniqueness lies in the fact that the multifunctional theater can change the scale of the venue and the location of the stage according to the needs of different performances to adapt to a variety of performances and activities.
The Performing Arts Center is equipped with a computer-controlled elevating partition wall, which, when hidden in the ceiling, creates a 360-degree large-scale movable arena with a seating capacity of 18,000; and when the movable partition wall is lowered, it can be converted into a 12,000-seat, 8,000-seat or 4,000-seat theater. The stage can be according to the content of the performance in the size, shape, and even in 360-degree space for three-dimensional combinations, to the performance of unlimited stage design space and artistic creativity, imagination space, such a design for the first domestic.

The design of the Expo Center project follows the 3R principle, i.e. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, and considers the use of photoelectric curtain wall system, river water cooling system, pneumatic waste recycling system, air-conditioning condensate and rainwater collection system for the roof, and program-controlled water-saving irrigation system for the green space, as well as a variety of effective technological means for the consumption of energy and water, indoor air quality and renewable materials. Indoor air quality and the use of renewable materials and other aspects of control, so that the Performing Arts Center has become a truly green building.

The theme of Japan Pavilion: "Harmony of Heart, Harmony of Skill"
Modeling highlights: it is divided into 3 major exhibition areas of the past, the present and the future, and the shape combines the traditional characteristics of Japan and modern style.
The silver-white Japan Pavilion formed a semi-circular dome, like a "space fortress", in fact, this is a layer of solar power generation devices containing ultra-light "membrane structure". This makes the Japanese pavilion become a "breathing" pavilion.
Japan Pavilion continued the Aichi Expo "with nature **** life" concept, the design of the environmental control technology, so that light, water, air and other natural resources are maximized. The double-layer outer membrane with high light transmittance on the outside of the pavilion, together with solar cells on the inside, will make full use of solar energy resources; and the pavilion will use the latest technology such as recirculating respiratory orifices.
