I heard about this book very early and said it was a very sad book. I waited until I found it, bought it home, and read it in one sitting. Only then did I suddenly find tears in the corners of my eyes and a dull pain in my heart.
Forcing this story into the context of high school students didn’t seem to impress me much. What really moved me was the storyline itself. Watching it often made me forget that they were still a group of children who knew nothing. Maybe they know more than I do.
Think about it, how "cruel" the author is in pushing a young girl onto the road to death. There is no love or no love here, only those emotions between friendship and love interspersed. The line between the sunny paradise and the purgatory seems to be clear but close at the same time. Just one step apart, heaven and hell are indeed two worlds.
Yi Yao's suffering, Yi Yao's pain, Yi Yao's sadness, and Yi Yao's hatred are all like grains of salt, crystal clear and salty, placed in front of us. She had no choice. She had to eat salt every day, endure the darkness every day, and could only live like this. Perhaps with the help of Qi Ming's sunshine or Gu Senxi's care, she managed to survive. But when the two important men around her pushed her to death, Yi Yao decisively fell from the sky like a meteor falling from the sky. They chose Yi Yao's future because they never gave her trust. The sun finally turned away and could no longer illuminate Yi Yao's dark life.
This book always divides Yi Yao into a dark world. Living in an alley, on one side is a warm family full of sunshine and love; on the other side is a gloomy family full of scolding and curses, if that can still be called home. The love buried under the vicious words and rude behavior is twisted. Mother and daughter, who originally thought they hated each other, discovered after their mother's sudden departure that the love between them had always been deep in their hearts.
When love is no longer an expression of care, but becomes a tool of harm, life has become extremely sad.
Gu Senxi and Yi Yao, two abandoned people, came together for some unknown reason. When Gu Senxi hugged Yi Yao tightly, the powerful young heartbeat in Yi Yao's ears had inspired her life. But when his sister left, and faced with Yi Yao's true confession that lacked evidence, Gu Senxi abandoned the girl in despair, preferring to let her die in exchange for his sister.
Yi Yao left, leaving with despair for this world. Perhaps she was unwilling to do so, but she had no hope of survival. Her mother abandoned her, her father abandoned her, Qi Ming abandoned her, and Gu Senxi abandoned her. So, the whole world abandoned her.
Qi Ming left, not knowing what kind of mood he was carrying. What kind of impact did the departure of the two girls bring to him? I really can't imagine it. Perhaps deep down in his heart, he also buries endless darkness.
Gu Senxiang is gone, an innocent life is gone, carrying hatred towards society. The book does not say what happened to her, only that what happened to her made her choose to leave this dirty society. She just accidentally became the victim of a girl's jealousy.
A sad novel, the whole novel is shrouded in sadness. When reading, I skipped a lot of other descriptions because they seemed a bit long-winded. What makes this novel successful is the tragic story, not the complicated and even somewhat incomprehensible description
