The same "Chopstick Brothers" became popular, why Xiao Yang box office hundreds of millions, but Wang Taili disappeared?

With the popularity of the movie "Rising Tide", the audience saw Xiao Yang's strength in playing.

Leaning on his wonderful performance in several movies, Xiao Yang also gradually approached the actor and carried a lot of box office on his body.

From time to time to shoot comedy, his first attempt at positive drama, and Andy Lau, Wan Xi and other strengths of the actors in the same frame, complete without losing, and let him popularity and reputation of the double apology.

But many people remember Xiao Yang from the group "Chopstick Brothers" and became well known.

With their popular songs, the "Chopsticks" became the hottest musical group in the world.

Specifically, the 2014 song "Little Apple" became a global hit, with 80-year-old square dancers and kindergarteners singing along.

The "Chopsticks Brothers", who experienced an overnight success, suddenly fell silent and stopped releasing songs.

After that, Xiao Yang began to enter the film and television industry, with the strength of the gradually recognized, he also has a new label "actor".

Another member of the group, Wang Taili, seems to have disappeared from the entertainment industry.

Why is the gap between the two, who are also members of the "Chopstick Brothers" group, so wide?

In 1996, Xiao Yang, who was preparing for high school, came to Beijing from Chengde, where he learned to draw as a child, and his admiration for art instructors made him aspire to become a noble instructor.

But, when applying for the Central Academy of Fine Arts secondary school, he unexpectedly failed the examination.

In order to follow the dream in his heart, Xiao Yang was finally admitted after a year of repeating his studies.

This year, he was 17 years old.

And at this time, Wang Taili, thanks to his rampant obsession with singer Jackson, stoked his own passion for music.

Also having studied fine arts, he relied on his pursuit of his dream and moved to Beijing to study music when he was 24.

But because of his family's poor circumstances, Wang Taili had to go home for a few days after spending all the money he had brought with him, and then go back to Beijing several times.

At this time, Xiao Yang also grew to like music, music singing is not bad, but also gathered a few people, the combination of a band, so Xiao Yang in the school is also a little famous.

The two dreamers, who aspire to music, also put down their dreams in Beijing.

When it came time to go to college, Xiao Yang didn't want to repeat the monotony of day-to-day life, so he enrolled in Nortel's Fine Arts Department, which specializes in directing film and television commercials.

During his time at the university, Xiao Yang showed his talent, not only as a class representative, but also known as the "king of the work", or a student, he had accumulated a lot of customers.

In his graduation year, Xiao Yang received a job shooting advertisements, and was introduced by a friend to his client, Wang Taili, in the cafeteria of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, where they met for the first time.

At this point, Wang had set up his own cultural company and, having heard of Xiao Yang's prowess, approached him to shoot a commercial.

Because they both had the same hobby, they became good friends over time.

In 2007, Wang Taili composed a cover of Japanese group DA PUMP's "Bless You Dear", which Xiao Yang liked very much after hearing it.

So the two put up $10,000 each and shot a hilarious six-minute music video for the song, "Male Geisha Retrospective," together.

And posted it online, and while it wasn't a hit, it did absorb a lot of attention.

So from there, a director plus a singer was born.

Shao Yang was mainly responsible for the filming of the short movie, while Wang Taili was responsible for the music part.

The two men, who got a taste of the sweetness, took out several tens of thousands of dollars of their savings the following year and shot the short film "Where Are You", which didn't turn out as expected.

Thinking that shooting a short film is really too much money, and seeing the house prices rising so fiercely, the two did not have the heart to create again.

So they broke up, one continued to work in the advertising industry, and the other returned home to Shandong to open a restaurant.

It wasn't long after the two had just given up on their dreams that Wang Taili was dealt a physical blow.

In 2009, the famous singer Michael Jackson passed away in an untimely manner, and as a loyal fan, Wang Taili felt that his world had collapsed.

A 40-year-old man, the dream in his heart is not yet able to resist the fodder and salt of life, his own hope about music in his heart is like a loafer's joke.

With no physical support left, Wang Tali picked up the phone and called Xiao Yang, saying, "We really need to do something."

Wang Taili rewrote the lyrics to the Japanese song "Thank You," which is full of impossible and heartbreaking lyrics about ideals.

He named the written song "Old Boy" and recorded a demo in the subway and sent it to Xiao Yang.

Shaw Yang listened to it and was greatly touched by it, so the two of them regained their hope for music.

At this time, the China Film Group was planning to launch a project called "11 Degrees of Youth Film Series" and invited 11 directors, including Xiao Yang, to shoot the film.

But because of the length of the project, the organizers begged Xiao Yang to cut the film, which they refused to do after much deliberation.

Unable to do so, the two had to pool their money to make the movie, and Xiao Yang eventually took out the money he had spent on his house to complete the movie.

During the filming, Wang Taili's father fell ill and was diagnosed with terminal lymphoma, but in order not to delay the filming, Wang Taili did not accompany his father from time to time in front of his hospital bed, which also made him feel very guilty.

When the movie was aired, the brothers' efforts were not in vain.

The popularity of the movie and the song made them known as the "Chopstick Brothers".

In 2011, they made a web movie of the same name, "Father," and asked Huo Si Yan to play the female lead.

The movie's plot touched people's hearts, and the songs with lyrics by Wang Taili added to the warmth.

The "Chopstick Brothers" have been on fire for some time now.

In 2014, the pair reached their career peak.

In order to promote their new movie "Old Boy's Dragon River", they created a song called "Little Apple", which was a hit.

The song was so popular at home and abroad that even the AMA Music Awards invited the Chopsticks Brothers to play on stage.

Because of the song's popularity, Xiao Yang began to be confused about his future.

He was also very interested in filming and playing music, and after some time, Xiao Yang decided to start his career as an actor.

And so it was that he got his big break in "Chinatown Detective," "Manslaughter," and "Crowded".

After Xiao Yang went off to make movies, Wang Taili also got involved in some variety shows, such as "Masked Singer Guess".

Wang Taili also composed the song "We Are the Sun" and received a slew of positive reviews.

His daughter, Wang Wan-chen, has also started to enter the acting industry and has received her father's full support.

As Xiao Yang's status as an actor took hold, he was presented on screen more and more frequently, so much so that it was revealed that the group had disbanded.

In fact, the two men had different agendas, which naturally unfolded differently.

But the "Chopstick Brothers" have not disbanded.
