What's the difference between an ancient maid, a maid with a house and a maid with a house? Make people blush.

In the history of China, women's status was generally humble, and they often existed as accessories of men. Some titles for women often appear in the secretaries of some history books. For example, a large group of women in A Dream of Red Mansions have distinct personalities and different styles, especially the maids, which are lifelike. In this book, the titles of girl, dowry girl, maid, escort, aunt, wife and grandmother can be seen everywhere. But what's the difference between them?

Maid: generally refers to a maid who serves her master and has a lower status. Some girls may marry Xiao Si or go abroad when they grow up.

Maid: Generally speaking, it refers to the maid who marries the man with the woman, mainly to prevent the woman from being unsuitable for the service of the man's maid after marriage, and partly to show the woman's family situation and status. The accompanying maid is usually the hostess's personal maid at home.

Dowry room: Generally speaking, a woman marries a handmaiden in a family unit. The woman's family followed her daughter into the man's house.

Bridesmaids: Generally speaking, they are promoted from bridesmaids. Because bridesmaids have to take care of the hostess's food and clothing, some good-looking bridesmaids will be accepted as bridesmaids if they are taken care of by their owners.

Maids usually have sex with their masters, but there is no formal birthright. Girls who pass by the room usually mix badly. However, there are exceptions. For example, Yuan Shikai once married a Korean woman. When she got married, this Korean aunt brought two maids, and she went to Yuan Shikai's house to be a maid. Over time, Yuan Shikai also had feelings for them and happily accepted the two maids as concubines. However, these are just a few examples.

Concubine and aunt: Generally speaking, it refers to the spouse except the first wife, who has a prominent position, but is far less than the first wife. Most of the concubines were married from outside, and some were promoted from maids. Most concubines are addressed by outsiders, while aunts are addressed by family members.

Wife, grandma: refers to the official rich family, the main house that Ming media is marrying, with the highest status. A wife is usually a high-ranking hostess in the family, such as Mrs. Wang in A Dream of Red Mansions; Grandma is generally the first wife of the younger generation, such as Wang Xifeng (second grandmother) in A Dream of Red Mansions.
