Jiayuguan is a small northwestern city with a population of less than one million.In 2011 there were only 300,000 people. If you are interested, it doesn't take long to take a cab around the city from south to north. Jiayuguan is a tourist city, so the streets are mostly clean and well-planned, not as crowded as in big cities.
Jiayuguan is also a famous tourist attraction in the country, and the first one in the world, - Jiayuguan Pass, is well known. When I'm hungry, I'll eat a bowl of hot beef noodles. Some people say the most authentic is Lanzhou beef noodles. Unfortunately, I've never had authentic Lanzhou beef noodles until now, but I've been eating Jiayuguan beef noodles for five years now, and I always feel shortcomings when I eat foreign ones.
Every afternoon, people dance square dance, fitness dance, Xiongguan Square as the center, radiating the city. Neat and tidy pace, enthusiastic dance, smiling faces, always give a warm feeling. Standing at the highest end of the city, looking at the Qilian Mountains in the distance, snow as far as the eye can see. Looking back at the Gobi Beach in the distance, sandwiched between two completely different landscapes Jiayuguan is also full of a unique beauty.
In the hot summer, the Datang food street is crowded with people and the barbecue stalls are full of oil, which makes you feel uncomfortable. The morning sun and sunset are the most beautiful scenery. Standing on the Great Wall watching the sun rise little by little, the view opens up, a heavy sense of history comes, as if in the ancient battlefield of a thousand years ago, everywhere is smoke, shouting, hoofbeats, and sometimes the sun sets.
Jiayuguan's main economy comes from a number of steel enterprises such as JISCO, and is supported by tourism services. Needless to say, the intersection of the new city and the old city makes it more contemporary.
