What should the elderly do if they are abandoned by the times?

According to the Statistical Report on the Development of Internet in China, in 20 19, the population aged 60 and over in China was 253.88 million. Only over 60 million elderly people have been exposed to the Internet, that is to say, nearly 200 million elderly people have never been exposed to the Internet, let alone used it.

According to "China Future Media Research Report" published in June 5438 +2020 10, the intelligent development of media and the aging process of population have not achieved the matching between supply and demand, and the elderly group will become an "information island" in the era of intelligent media and a digital vulnerable group marginalized by the new media wave.

This is not an alarmist. The elderly are increasingly marginalized. On the one hand, with the growth of age, the living habits that the elderly have developed cannot be changed at all, and they have no intention of changing or do not want to change. In addition, their ability to accept new technologies is declining, which is more difficult than that of young people. On the other hand, some managers in our society do not consider the special group of the elderly at all when implementing electronic informatization, and most of them adopt a "one size fits all" approach to manage as conveniently as possible. Perhaps in their view, they have no shortage of consumers at all. In the long run, if this continues, with the acceleration of digitalization, networking, mobility and intelligence of the media in the future, those generations of elderly people may not keep up with the trend of the times, or even be completely abandoned by the trend of the times.

Take the most talked about and widely used health regulations in this period as an example. Nowadays, high-speed trains, subways, planes and even buses have to use health codes to ensure safety. This is a good thing in itself, but in many places, the actual situation of the elderly group is not fully considered. Because some elderly people don't use mobile phones at all, and they can't talk about health codes, which means they may not be able to move and travel at all, which makes them very confused. Fortunately, in some places, timely adjustments are made, and paper health codes or other health certificates are introduced to allow such elderly people to travel.

I think, although it is understandable to pursue the rapid development of science and technology, it should be more humanized in the process of use, rather than across the board. To tell the truth, modern scientific and technological means do not conflict with traditional means. Blindly pursuing speed is not necessarily the best choice. We should give full consideration to the user groups and leave some choices and living space for the elderly who can't use it or can't keep up with the pace of development. The "dual track system" combining modern information with traditional management is the best choice for humanized management. After all, we all get old one day, and we may all face the day of being abandoned. At that time, no one may know what information technology will appear, and shoot us on the beach!
