According to the relevant regulations, food production and marketing personnel and employees in public places must go to the health and epidemic prevention station for health examination and pass the health certificate, and only after passing the health knowledge training can they take up their posts. The food hygiene certificate has expired and can only be re-applied. The health certificate is valid for one year and should be reviewed once a year. The process is as follows: (1) Bring my ID card and two one-inch bareheaded color photos to relevant departments (centers for disease control and prevention or health institutions approved by the Ministry of Health to undertake preventive health examination). (2) Get the form at the front desk, fill in the personal basic information, post photos, and pay the medical examination fee at the payment office. (3) Then carry out various physical examinations one by one.

Article 45 of the Food Safety Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) shall establish and implement the health management system for employees. Persons suffering from diseases that hinder food safety as stipulated by the administrative department of health of the State Council shall not engage in direct contact with imported food. Food production and marketing personnel engaged in direct contact with imported food shall undergo annual health examination and obtain health certificates before taking up their posts.
