1. Which tree has many cicadas?
1, cicada monkeys generally have more healthy tree species with vigorous growth and more juice, such as pear, apple, walnut, elm, willow, manchurian ash, mulberry, citrus, grapefruit, phoenix tree and poplar, which are the first choice for cicada monkeys. Monkeys usually start laying eggs from July to August every year. They will lay eggs on tender branches. After the branches wither and fall to the ground, the temperature of the eggs is suitable from winter to May of the following year, and the incubation ends at the end of June. In summer, adults will gradually start to drill out of the ground and start a new round of eclosion and spawning.
2. Knowing that the food source of monkeys is mainly the sap of parasitic trees, such as the sap of young branches and roots, and knowing that after monkeys lay eggs on branches, the spawning parts will lose water and wither, which is more harmful to trees. Therefore, monkeys have very special requirements for parasitic trees, and the trees suitable for their growth must meet the standards of developed roots, lush branches and plenty of juice.
3. The most suitable tree species for raising cicadas is willow, followed by poplar, because these two kinds of trees grow rapidly and have high survival rate after planting. Willow is drought-resistant and waterlogged-tolerant, with many branches and developed roots, which is very suitable for breeding cicadas. Cicada monkeys bred by willow trees are quite consistent in body shape and compact in meat quality, and are very popular in the market. In addition, willows grow for a long time, and once planted, they can be planted all the time.
Second, the breeding method of cicada
1, site preparation
(1) Before breeding cicadas, you must choose a suitable breeding ground for cicadas, such as orchard, elm forest and willow forest.
(2) The bark of the tree species must be thin, the branches and leaves of the bark should be rich, and the branches should be small for attachment.
(3) The soil must not be too dry, and it must be moist, so that it will be more convenient for cicada seedlings to be unearthed. A more suitable place is the fertile soil distributed along the valley.
2, collecting and culturing egg branches
(1) Cicada species can go to the wild to collect some branches attached with cicada eggs, then hatch them, or buy them directly.
(2) When hatching, the branches containing eggs must be tied together and then covered with sand. At this time, it is necessary to ensure humidity and spray water frequently, and the sand surface is wet every time.
(3) At this time, cicada species will slowly hatch in the soil, and when some ant-like larvae are found, they can be transplanted into the planting forest.
3. Breeding management
(1) You can put the cultivated branches and sand at the roots prepared before. The pit must not be too deep, just about 30cm into the ground, and it should be close to the roots, so that it will not damage the cicada seedlings and help the young cicadas absorb the sap from the roots.
(2) Post-management is mainly aimed at trees, and more fertilizers should be applied to ensure the growth of tree species and provide sufficient nutrients for young cicadas.
(3) Patrol the forest frequently, and remove animals such as ants' nests or mice in time to avoid harm to monkeys.
(4) In daily life, to prevent cattle and other large animals from stepping into it, the burial place of cicada monkeys must be recorded to facilitate harvest management.
Step 4 harvest
(1) When the cicada matures, it will slowly emerge and climb up along the trunk. The isolation belt can be made at the place where the trunk is 30-50 cm away from the soil. The width of the belt must be controlled at about 10cm, and the surface must be smooth, so that cicadas can't climb up.
(2) Monkeys are usually unearthed after rain, because rain can help them move in the soil, so when the weather is dry for a long time, they must be artificially caught in the rain to promote them to be unearthed.
(3) Cicada species cannot be harvested at one time, and the harvesting time can last about 1 month or even longer.
