Founded in 1956, it moved from the old site at the foot of Dameng Mountain to the new site in May 2008. Covering an area of 8 15 mu, it mainly undertakes the functions of ex-situ wildlife protection, scientific research and popular science education in Fuzhou.
Fuzhou Zoo has 16 animal exhibition halls and exhibition areas, with nearly 150 species of animals and more than 1000 animals, among which there are more than 20 species of national first-class protected animals such as golden monkey, langur, gibbon, Asian elephant, Chinese alligator, South China tiger, elk and pronghorn.

1, Asian elephants "lovers" Mi Ondong and Mi Onna
Miong Dong is an Asian elephant purchased from Myanmar in 1979. 1986 Fuzhou Zoo bought Miona from Myanmar. An elephant can generally live to be about 80 years old, and Mi Ondong and Mi Onna in their twenties are in their prime.
2. The Fox family
Fuzhou Zoo introduced new fox species 10, including snow fox, silver fox and blue fox, among which snow fox was introduced for the first time.
3.big herring
Among the eight herrings in Fuzhou Zoo/kloc-0, the largest one weighs about 35 kg, and is 1.3 m long, while the smallest one 10 is more than 0 kg. This 1.3-meter herring became the "fish king" here.
