Imitation porcelain is a kind of polymer plastic material, called melamine formaldehyde resin, also known as melamine resin. It is non-toxic and can be used for food packaging. Generally speaking, the temperature tolerance range of porcelain-like tableware is between -30℃ and 120℃, and the oil temperature can exceed 230℃, which is far beyond the tolerance temperature of porcelain-like, so it will release excessive formaldehyde.
There is also a fake porcelain-like tableware on the market, which uses urea-formaldehyde resin, a raw material banned by the state. The temperature resistance of this material is only about 80℃, which will release more formaldehyde than the regular porcelain-like tableware. Since the imitation porcelain tableware will release formaldehyde when it reaches the tolerance temperature, does that mean that the imitation porcelain tableware is not available? Of course not. Qualified porcelain-like tableware can be used normally at room temperature, can also be put in the refrigerator, or even boiled in boiling water, which is safe in these cases.
