SCL-90 norm

Symptom Checklist -SCL-90 has been constantly revised by psychologists, and it is no longer necessary to use factor analysis to find factors to establish a norm, as long as it is handled according to the analytical and statistical indicators of the scale (see below).

In SPSS, simply use the commands in the "transformation" menu.

Ten factors in SCL-90 can be reflected.

Target Variable Column: enter a new target variable (factor) name.

Numeric expression column: Enter the calculation expression (available function) according to the calculation method described below.

For example: factor one

Target variable column: FACTOR 1

=

Numeric expression columns: sum (v 1, v4, v 12, v27, v40, v42, v48, v49, v52, v53, v56, v58)/ 12 or (v/kloc-2

(In addition, if you are in EXCEL, just enter the function/formula directly in the cell and copy it. )

(1) Total score

1. The total score is the sum of 90 items.

2. The total symptom index, also known as the total average score, is to divide the total score by 90 (= total score ÷90).

3. The number of positive items refers to the number of items with a score of 1-4, and the pain degree of positive symptoms refers to the total score divided by the number of positive items (= total score/number of positive items).

4. The average score of positive symptoms refers to the total score MINUS the total score of negative items (items with a score of 0) and then divided by the number of positive items.

(2) Factor score

SCL-90 includes 9 factors (including additional items and others, which is 10). Each factor reflects the degree of pain in a certain aspect of the patient, and the distribution characteristics of symptoms can be understood through the factor score.

Factor score = the total score of each item constituting the factor/the number of items constituting the factor.

The meanings of the nine factors and the included items are:

1. Somatization: including 1, 4, 12, 27, 40, 42, 48, 49, 52, 53, 56, 58 * * 12. This factor mainly reflects physical discomfort, including chief complaints of cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and respiratory systems, and anxious physical manifestations such as headache, back pain and muscle soreness.

2. Obsessive symptoms: including 3, 9, 10, 28, 38, 45, 46, 5 1, 55, 65 * * 10. It mainly refers to those meaningless thoughts, impulses and behaviors that you know are unnecessary but can't get rid of, and some common behavioral signs of cognitive impairment are also reflected in this factor.

3. Interpersonal sensitivity: including 6,265,438+0,34,36,37,465,438+0,665,438+0,69,73 * * 9 items. Mainly refers to some personal discomfort and inferiority, especially when compared with others. Inferiority, anxiety and obvious discomfort in interpersonal communication, as well as self-awareness and negative expectation in interpersonal communication are also typical reasons for this symptom.

4. Depression: including 5, 14, 15, 20, 22, 26, 29, 30, 3 1, 32, 54, 7 1, 79 * *1. Depressed emotions and moods are typical symptoms, and they also show a decline in interest in life, lack of motivation, and loss of vitality. It also reflects disappointment, pessimism and cognitive and physical feelings related to depression. In addition, it also includes thoughts about death and suicidal thoughts.

5. Anxiety: including 2 17, 23, 33, 39, 57, 72, 78, 80, 86 * *10. Generally refers to those fidgety, uneasy, nervous, nervous and the resulting physical signs, such as tremor. The main content of this factor is to measure anxiety and panic attacks, and it also includes a project of disintegration.

6. Hostility: including 1 1, 24,63,67,74,81* *. Mainly from three aspects to reflect the performance of hostility: thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Its projects include boredom, falling objects, arguing to uncontrollable temper tantrums and so on.

7. Terror: including 7 items: Japan, 25, 47, 50, 70, 75, 82 * * *. The objects of fear include travel, open space, crowds or public places and transportation. In addition, there are some projects that reflect social terror.

8. Paranoia: including 8, 18, 43, 68, 76, 83 * * 6 items. This factor is formulated around the basic characteristics of paranoid thinking: mainly refers to projective thinking, hostility, suspicion, relational concept, delusion, passive experience and exaggeration.

9. Psychopathy: including 7 16, 35, 62, 77, 84, 85, 87, 88, 90 * * * 10. Reflect all kinds of acute symptoms and behaviors, and define loosely the signs of psychotic process. In addition, it can also reflect the secondary symptoms of psychotic behavior and the indications of split lifestyle.

In addition, 19, 44, 59, 60, 64, 66, 89***7 items are not included in any factors, reflecting the situation of sleep and diet. In the analysis, these seven items are regarded as additional items, or others are regarded as the 10 th factor, so that the sum of all factors is equal to the total score.

The factor score of each factor is calculated by dividing the sum of all the scores of each factor by the number of factor items.

For example, if the sum of the scores of obsessive-compulsive factors is 30, and * * * has 10, then the factor is divided into 3.

In the scoring system of 1-5, a rough and simple judgment method is to see whether the factor score exceeds 3 points. If it exceeds 3 points, it means that the symptoms of this factor have reached moderate or above severity. The following is the norm of SCL-90 in normal adults. If the factor score exceeds the norm, it is abnormal.
