What causes hypertension?

Hypertension or hypertension is only an artificial value, which is constantly changing with the understanding of the risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. 1999 The World Health Organization International Hypertension Union (WHO /ISH) has given the definition standard of hypertension, which is divided into four categories and three levels (table 12, table 13).

Note: (1) This table is taken from the Guidelines for Prevention and Treatment of Hypertension in China in 2005.

(2) If the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure of patients are in different categories, take the higher type.

(3) Simple systolic hypertension can also be classified according to systolic blood pressure level 1, 2 and 3.

For adults aged 40-70, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases will occur when systolic blood pressure increases by 20 mm Hg or diastolic blood pressure increases by 65,438+05/75 mm Hg to 65,438+085/65,438+05 mm Hg. Most cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases occur in patients with moderate hypertension, not in patients with severe hypertension.
