Which is more likely to be poisoned, charcoal or bamboo charcoal?
Charcoal. The main component of charcoal is carbon, which is the product of incomplete combustion and produces carbon monoxide gas. Carbon monoxide can easily combine with hemoglobin to form carboxyhemoglobin, which makes hemoglobin lose its oxygen-carrying ability and causes tissue suffocation. If the charcoal combustion environment is closed and carbon monoxide gas cannot escape, it will lead to the increase of carbon monoxide concentration in the air, thus causing symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning. Bamboo charcoal is made of three-year-old alpine bamboo, which is fired at a high temperature of nearly a thousand degrees, and generally does not produce carbon monoxide gas. So charcoal is easy to be poisoned.
