How to make children understand the value of labor

Education should not only cultivate students' respect and love for labor, but also cultivate students' labor habits.

Regarding the importance of labor, the Soviet writer Gorky once said: "The best things in our world are created by labor and people's clever hands. . Parents give their children labor education, make them realize the importance and value of labor, and provide them with labor opportunities, which will play a positive role in their healthy growth in the future.

Some sociologists and psychologists have found that there are great differences in personality, hobbies, life and career between children who love labor and those who don't. When they grow up, the unemployment rate is 1: 15, and the crime rate is 1: 10.

However, in the process of educating their children, many parents have developed the habit of doting on their children and neglected their labor education. Children have gradually developed the bad habit of relaxing and hating labor, and even some children can hardly take care of themselves, let alone adapt to society when they grow up.

Many media have reported that Wei Yongkang, an oriental prodigy, was ordered to drop out of school by Chinese Academy of Sciences. This child prodigy can read 1000 Chinese characters at the age of two, master junior high school culture at the age of four, attend a county key middle school at the age of eight, and be admitted to Xiangtan University with excellent results at the age of 13. Four years later, he was admitted to the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with the second total score, and continued to pursue his master's and doctoral degrees. Unexpectedly, three years later, the Chinese Academy of Sciences advised Wei Yongkang to quit school on the grounds that he could not adapt to postgraduate study.

In fact, Wei Yongkang's maladjustment in learning is only one aspect, and what is more unsuitable is his self-care. It is reported that during my four-year study in Wei Yongkang University, I lived with my mother for three years. Even in the fourth year, Wei Yongkang moved to the student dormitory, and my mother and I were still inseparable. After three years of college, Wei Yongkang, like junior high school students, relied on her mother to take care of herself. She still relied on her help in eating, dressing, bathing, washing her face and serving bowls.

Now, there are many only children in China. Parents love their children too much to advocate and encourage them to do housework. Specifically, the following behavior habits of parents will unconsciously affect children's understanding of labor: ① despise ordinary workers.

Some parents often give their children this lesson: "If you don't study hard now, you will be left to sweep the road as a worker when you grow up!" " So in the eyes of children, ordinary manual labor has become synonymous with "base".

Children are too young to work.

③ Pay more attention to the cultivation of intelligence than work habits.

For example, think that the child's homework burden is already very heavy, and don't add any burden to him; Some housework is too dangerous, afraid of children's accidents, and so on. From the child's point of view, it is because of the lack of necessary practical exercise of housework skills that they can't do well and can't do it. They are not interested in labor and are more willing to rely on their parents.

④ Do not pay attention to cultivating children's labor consciousness.

Some children are not used to doing housework at ordinary times. Occasionally, if you don't do well in the exam or are naughty outside, parents will use housework as a punishment, which will make children have a bad psychological set-up for labor from an early age. Even if parents are interested in cultivating their children's concept of labor, it is difficult to arouse their enthusiasm for labor.

Mr. Cai Yuanpei, a famous modern educator in China, once said: "Labor is the foundation of life." Francois, a famous French writer, also said: "Human labor is the only real wealth." Therefore, labor is very important for everyone, and children are no exception. The purpose of labor education for children is to cultivate their basic qualities and abilities. If parents ignore labor education, they ignore the most important content and opportunities for children to learn to be human, which is very harmful. Once a child becomes lazy, it is difficult to make him frugal. Therefore, parents should cultivate their children's habit of loving labor from an early age, give them opportunities to display their talents, let them do their own things, learn to do what they can't, and often do what they can.
