What are the suitable foods for hamsters and how should hamsters be raised?

One: What is the healthy food that hamsters like?

Vegetables: vegetables, carrots, spinach, cucumbers, cabbages and gourds (green and yellow vegetables are preferred)

Seeds: sunflower seeds, peanuts, walnuts and pine nuts.

Fruits: strawberries, apples and cherries.

Cereals: chicken feed, bird feed, wheat, corn and millet.

Plants: dandelion, plantain

Animal protein: beef, chicken, boiled egg protein, cheese, milk, yogurt, breadworm, barley worm.

Two: hamster daily feeding knowledge

Feeding environment: the optimum temperature is 20-28℃, avoiding direct sunlight or wind, but paying attention to ventilation. Don't be too close to TV, stereo and computer. Hamsters can hear sounds that humans can't. Radiation and noise should be avoided.

Summer: It is best not to turn on the air conditioner, because the temperature difference between turning on the air conditioner and turning off the air conditioner will be too great. Hamsters are very sensitive to temperature and easy to catch cold.

Winter: Hamsters placed outdoors will pretend to hibernate because they are too cold. Spread more mats such as sawdust and equip hamsters with wooden or thatched houses to keep warm. Or give hamsters more cotton to make their own nests, or absorbent cotton, preferably natural cotton. The easiest way is to pack the whole cage into a carton, but pay attention to ventilation. Don't make nests for them made of cotton thread. Although it is warm, hamsters will bite off cotton products and get into it to sleep, so some unbroken cotton threads can easily cause hamsters to suffocate.

Three: basic supplies

Cage: Please use ventilated wire cages in summer, or semi-iron and semi-plastic cages, such as outdoor cages. Keep warm in winter. Plastic cages are more suitable for winter. Don't use barbed wire on the cage chassis, because rats are prone to fracture and injury.

Food basin: generally, small containers are ok, as long as it is not easy to knock over and the edge is not too high, otherwise hamsters can't climb in. Commonly used containers: glass ashtray, soy sauce tray, various small bowls, microwave oven box, small fresh-keeping box.

Water dispenser: Water dispensers are generally designed with stainless steel beads at the front end. Pay attention to test whether there is water leakage when buying. You can't put water in the bowl directly, because hamsters will get wet when drinking water, and they are easy to catch cold and get sick.

Toilet: The common plastic box containing cat litter is a relatively simple toilet. It is in line with personal hygiene habits to take out or replace all the caked cat litter every day. Some hamsters can be used, but they are not necessary.

Bathroom: Some hamsters bathe in the toilet with cat litter. Although it's unsanitary, it's a hamster's hobby and doesn't need a shower room. But for a clean hamster, the owner should buy it a bathroom, put bath sand on it, and let the hamster roll freely.

Running wheel: Wild hamsters run 20 kilometers every day, so exercise is very important for hamsters. Without enough exercise, hamsters will be stressed and bite the cage. At the same time, hamsters are prone to overnutrition and obesity. Therefore, the careful owner should give the hamster a running wheel, pay attention when buying, and choose a seamless running wheel, so that the hamster will not be easily injured.

Wood chips: There are many materials, and most people will choose wood chips because they are clean and easy to buy.

Object of grinding teeth: Hamster's teeth will grow all the time, so it is necessary to grind them off with a grinding bar. Many hamsters grind their teeth in other ways, such as biting cages. Don't worry too much when you don't use the molar stone/grinding rod you provided.

Cabin: Cabin is made of ceramics, wood, grass and plastic. Hamsters like it very much because hamsters are burrowing animals. If possible, hamsters should be equipped with a hut and can make it by themselves.
