Dear judges, teachers and comrades,
Hello everyone! Today, I want to talk to you about how to protect children's oral health from the perspective of preventing dental caries. The theme of my report is to care for children and prevent dental caries.
Smile is the most beautiful symbol in the world, and the center of smile is the tooth. It can be seen that having good teeth, especially white and neat teeth, is what everyone expects and will undoubtedly make your smile brighter and more confident. Because the beauty of teeth directly affects our daily communication and external perception, not "bright eyes and white teeth" is often a "dark wound" in many people's hearts.
Oral health status is a mirror reflecting the quality of life. The World Health Organization has long regarded oral health as one of the top ten standards of human health. In a social sense, it is also a sign of social progress and civilization. In today's society, people communicate more frequently, and oral health and white teeth have become one of the influencing factors of people's career choice and mate selection.
Three generations of gentlemen. Every parent wants their children to have a healthy and quality life. Then, let's start from now on, from the child's childhood, "care for children and prevent dental caries."
First of all, children have to chew food by deciduous teeth before their permanent teeth grow together. Front teeth like plates will cut off food, fangs like awls will help tear food, and fangs like stone mortar will grind food. Like 20 small partners, 20 deciduous teeth are combined in a very harmonious way, with both division of labor and cooperation. * * * will complete the chewing function and provide necessary nutritional conditions for children with very strong growth and development; Second, deciduous teeth can help pronunciation. As we all know, if the front teeth are lost, the speech will be abnormal, the speech will be leaked and the speech will be unclear. Primary teeth are the main period for babies to learn pronunciation and speak. Healthy deciduous teeth will help children form correct pronunciation habits and make your children articulate. Third, healthy deciduous teeth are also conducive to the normal development of the baby's jaw and the beauty of the face, reserve a gap for the eruption of permanent teeth, induce the normal eruption of permanent teeth, and lay a good foundation for the child's lifelong dental health. Having healthy deciduous teeth can not only make you have a healthy, lively and bright-eyed baby, but also make your child have a healthier and happier life. Therefore, we say that to care for teeth, we should start from childhood, from now on!
So, what are the causes of dental caries in children? The chief culprit of dental caries is a colloidal bacterial membrane attached to the surface of teeth, called dental plaque. Bacteria in dental plaque will react with sugar or starch in food to produce acidic substances that corrode teeth. Over time, the enamel of teeth will be destroyed to form tooth decay, which is tooth decay.
As the saying goes, "toothache is not a disease, it hurts like hell." Tell me, is this sentence correct? This word-of-mouth proverb is only half right, exposing everyone's misunderstanding of dental diseases. In fact, dental caries can not only cause heart-wrenching pain, but also lead to pulp disease, apical disease, dentition deformity and so on if it is not prevented early, which will affect the development of permanent teeth and children's language ability. It is also the "fuse" that causes systemic diseases such as stomach disease, heart disease and arthritis, and it is the "invisible killer" of good health. If you want your child to have 28 loyal teeth to support his facade in decades or even his life, you should create a healthy and safe environment for their growth and living from today.
It should be said that toothache is a disease, and early prevention and early treatment are smart. Only with good teeth can you have a good body and a good future! When you are 80 years old and still eating delicious food and in excellent health, I believe you will sincerely sigh: good teeth and good appetite! Childhood is the key period to lay a good tooth. We should give priority to prevention, take precautions and nip in the bud.
So, how to carry out dental care to prevent dental caries in children? Want your child to have beautiful and healthy teeth? Smile, protect your teeth and love your teeth from now on!
First, we should insist on brushing our teeth in the morning and evening and gargling after meals. One person in the family brushes a cup, choose a healthy toothbrush suitable for the child's age, and pay attention to changing it every three months. It is necessary to teach children scientific and correct methods of brushing their teeth and develop the habit of brushing their teeth twice in the morning and evening.
Second, use fluoride toothpaste, but parents and friends should pay attention. Children before the age of 3 should not use fluoride toothpaste. Children aged 4-6 should use it carefully under the guidance of their parents. Children in high fluoride areas had better not use fluoride toothpaste. At present, the fluoride toothpaste on the market is used by adults and children over 6 years old, which has a good caries prevention effect. When brushing your teeth, be careful not to swallow toothpaste into your stomach. It's best to use only the size of soybean grains at a time, not more than 1 cm at most, instead of crowding the whole toothbrush like TV commercials. When children use fluoride toothpaste, children's toothpaste should be used, and it should not be mixed with adult toothpaste, because all adult toothpastes currently sold contain fluorine, and the fluorine content is higher than that of children's toothpaste. In the long run, fluoride intake in the body will increase, and even lead to dental fluorosis (commonly known as macular teeth).
The third is to close the pit and fissure. There are many "gullies" on the "big teeth"-these are pits and cracks. Their unevenness can increase the chewing function, but it is also easier to store food residues and bacteria, and it is not easy to clean up, which will lead to dental caries. And "pit and fissure sealing" is to fill these pits and fissures with a safe "fluid resin material", just like putting a protective coat on teeth to prevent them from hiding residues and bacteria, thus reducing tooth decay. The best time for pit and fissure sealing is within one year after molar eruption. Generally speaking, children who have a tendency of tooth decay or like to eat snacks should do pit and fissure sealing in time. The specific time is: deciduous molars are 3-4 years old, first permanent molars are 6-7 years old, and second permanent molars are 1 1- 13 years old. After the pit and fissure is closed, brush your teeth well. If the sealant falls off, it should be closed again.
The fourth is to develop good eating habits. Let children eat sugar scientifically, drink less carbonated drinks, and don't eat after brushing their teeth before going to bed; Avoid eating too many sweets, and don't "bully the weak and be afraid of the hard". Parents should give their children more vegetables that can promote chewing, such as celery, cabbage, spinach, leeks and kelp. , as well as meat, eggs, milk and some nuts with high calcium content, stimulate the synchronous development of jaws and teeth.
Fifth, regular oral examinations should be conducted to treat dental caries as soon as possible. Advocate children to receive a health examination every six months, so as to achieve early prevention and early treatment.
The above introduces five aspects of dental care and cleaning methods. In fact, among them, the most important and simplest way is to master the scientific and correct brushing method and develop good cleaning habits.
Next, I will take you to learn the correct method of brushing your teeth. Put the brush head on the tooth neck, the hair bundle forms a 45-degree angle with the tooth surface, and gently press the hair tail to the root tip, so that one part of the end of the hair bundle enters the gingival sulcus and the other part enters the adjacent surface. The toothbrush vibrates horizontally 4-5 times in the original position. The toothbrush only moves about 1mm during vibration, and then brushes vertically along the teeth. Brush from top to bottom when brushing upper teeth, from bottom to top when brushing lower teeth, and brush back and forth when brushing chewing surfaces. When brushing the lingual surfaces of the upper and lower teeth, the toothbrush head can stand up and vibrate up and down. Move the toothbrush to the adjacent teeth in turn and repeat the same action. When brushing your teeth, you should follow a certain order, and every time you move the toothbrush, you should have a proper overlap to ensure that every tooth surface is not missed. Brush your teeth twice in the morning and evening for 3 minutes each time.
There are two poems in Han Yu's "To Master Liu" that I particularly like. "I admire your sharp teeth and hard cakes." I'll give them to you! Let's take active actions, starting with caring and protecting our teeth, and caring for our children! Let them show their white teeth, spread their confident smiles, fly their beautiful hopes and embrace the rising sun tomorrow!
My speech is over, thank you!
