Southwest Jiaotong University Hospital is a medical prevention and health care center for all teachers, students and employees, which belongs to designated hospitals in Sichuan Province and Chengdu. The hospital now has clinical departments such as internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, ent, stomatology, prevention and health care, and medical technology departments such as pharmacy, radiology, electrocardiogram, clinical examination, ultrasound and physiotherapy. There are more than 70 medical technicians, including deputy chief physician 13, and 29 with intermediate titles.
At present, Southwest Jiaotong University Hospital has medical institutions in Jiuli and Xipu campuses, which are responsible for the medical care of more than 60,000 teachers and students in the two campuses. It mainly involves the diagnosis and treatment of common and frequently-occurring diseases, the prevention and control of infectious diseases in schools, the daily supervision and inspection of food hygiene, the emergency treatment of public health emergencies in schools, and the health care services (including health checkups) for all kinds of personnel. At the same time, it also undertakes the management of medical expenses for retired cadres, the management of students' medical insurance and the reimbursement of employees' medical insurance.
