What is Newman's nursing model?
Newman nursing model, also known as Newman system model, is a nursing theory put forward by American nursing theorist BettyNeuman. The core idea of Newman's system model is to reduce the contact between the object system and the pressure source or reduce the adverse pressure reaction through purposeful intervention, so as to maintain the stability of the object system. The main contents of Newman's nursing model include five variables: physiological variables, psychological variables, social and cultural variables, growth variables and mental variables. These variables interact with each other and affect the health status of individuals. Nurses can evaluate individual health needs according to these variables, and take corresponding nursing measures to prevent and reduce the adverse effects caused by stress.
