I had the same question, and then I gave it a try. Double-click the header on the page behind section break to enter the editing state, remove the link on the previous page in the command bar, exit the editing state, and then delete section break, with the header and footer unchanged.
Reset the header of the home page or remove the "different home page", insert the "separator-next page" after your "home page" (is it the first page), and remove the "same as the previous section" from the header of the text. This answer was adopted by the questioner.
