What are the factors that lead to the decline of sperm quality?

Recently, Jilin, Shaanxi, Jiangxi, Beijing and other places have released proposals for sperm donation and boarded hot search. In order to encourage college students to donate sperm voluntarily, sperm banks around the country provide applicants with a free physical examination worth 1000 yuan. Successful donors can also get an economic subsidy of about 5,000 yuan and free frozen sperm. The statement that "the qualified rate of sperm donation is only 20%" has been heated up.

Why "name" college students to donate sperm?

According to the staff of the sperm bank, volunteers are hard to find. From the perspective of eugenics, men also have the best childbearing age. Generally speaking, men aged 25-35 have the best reproductive quality. The "father-in-law" over 35 years old is not as good as school-age men in sperm quality, embryo quality and successful pregnancy guarantee.

According to statistics, the average height of men aged 18 to 44 in China is 1.69.7 meters. Coupled with the cryopreservation of sperm areas, the quality control is more stringent. The voluntary pass rate is less than 2 1%. Qualified volunteers need to meet the sperm concentration of more than 60 million per milliliter, and a volunteer's specimen can only be provided to five patients.

It is understood that male sperm quality and fertility will decline with age, so most of the current sperm donors are college students, attracted by subsidies, and young people are healthy. Two years ago, due to the epidemic, colleges and universities closed classes, but the demand continued to decrease, resulting in a shortage of sperm banks.

Why do you advocate "sperm donation" frequently?

In recent years, the incidence of infertility in China has soared, and the situation is not optimistic. According to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, the infertility rate in China has climbed to 12%- 18%, and more than 50 million people suffer from this problem.

Taking Shaanxi as an example, the infertility rate of married couples in this area has reached 15%, and 40% of them are male sperm problems. Therefore, it is necessary to understand that there is actually such a big environmental consideration in promoting sperm banks everywhere.

It should be said that not only men in China, but also the decline of sperm quality has been a secret pain for men all over the world in the past decades. It is estimated that the number of male sperm in the world is decreasing by about 2% every year, and the density of sperm has decreased by half on average in the past 50 years.

In February1year, WHO published the sixth edition of Laboratory Manual for Examination and Treatment of Human Experience, and assessed the semen quality of 3589 men who could make their female sexual partners pregnant within 12 months. Nearly 10% of the subjects have oligozoospermia, that is, the number of sperm per ml is less than 20 million.

At the same time, it is also reported that there is no obvious interface between sperm density of infertile men and normal men. So in addition to quantity, there are also quality factors.

The main causes of male infertility are as follows:

1, azoospermia or oligospermia, decreased motility and abnormal morphology.

2. Sperm transport is blocked.

3. Immune factors.

4. Endocrine dysfunction such as hypothyroidism.

In addition to congenital causes, the above symptoms have three most important reasons:

1. Unhealthy diet: excessive stimulation of alcohol and tobacco, long-term fast food, midnight snack, etc.

Second, unhealthy work and rest: staying up late for a long time, often taking hot baths, frequent sexual life or frequent use of "five girls".

Third, anxiety: mental depression and excessive fatigue caused by work stress and life stress.

How to fight the battle of "Little Tadpole"?

? Not picky eaters: the growth of sperm also needs nutrition supply, and you can eat more foods rich in vitamin E and zinc;

? Quit smoking and drinking: alcohol and tobacco are a major factor poisoning male sperm;

? No coffee: Many white-collar workers like to drink coffee now. You should know that caffeine contained in coffee is also very harmful to sperm, and frequent intake will lead to a decline in sperm motility;

? Go to the sauna less: Many of us like the sauna, which can relieve fatigue, but if you are pregnant now, you'd better not go there often, because sperm are most afraid of high temperature, and you may be comfortable, but it will be a disaster for sperm.

? Drink less cola: Studies show that cola has spermicidal effect. If you are pregnant, you'd better drink less coke.

The qualified rate of volunteers is less than 20%, will it affect fertility?

Sperm bank should put sperm in liquid nitrogen tank for cold storage, and the temperature is-196 degrees, so there are many indicators to be actually investigated, including this activity and motility of sperm. In this sense, being below the standard set by the sperm bank does not mean that you can't have children. The so-called voluntary pass rate is less than 20%, so we need to be vigilant, but we can't watch too much.
