? Under the guidance of TCM theory, TCM health preservation studies the theory and method of regulating body and mind, preserving health and prolonging life according to the changing law of human life activities.

? Traditional Chinese medicine health preservation embodies the wisdom and experience of predecessors, and ancient books such as Tao Te Ching and Zhuangzi in the pre-Qin period have detailed discussions on this. Huangdi Neijing (referred to as Neijing for short) is a milestone in the history of TCM health preservation, which laid the theoretical system of TCM. She extensively absorbed and summarized the achievements of health care before Qin and Han Dynasties, laid the theoretical foundation of health care in TCM, and played a connecting role in the formation and development of health care in TCM. Since Huangdi Neijing, there have been books on health preservation in all previous dynasties. After long-term experience accumulation, theoretical sublimation and practical verification, TCM health preservation has gradually become a distinctive branch of TCM, forming a stable discipline system with independent and profound academic theory and unique and rich practical methods.

? The system of TCM health preservation is based on TCM theory, including basic concepts such as life view, longevity view, health view, harmony view and balance view. The basic principles such as prevention first, strengthening the body resistance and eliminating evil, combining static and dynamic, integrating form and spirit, differentiating and nourishing according to causes, adapting to three causes, taking five zang-organs as the foundation, and miscellaneous nourishment have been established. Under its guidance, the means and methods of health preservation adopted by Chinese medicine are more colorful and endless. Qigong instruction alone has the reputation of "strange skills". These colorful health preservation methods can nourish, prevent and cure diseases, make full use of many favorable factors of natural and social environment, fully mobilize the human body's own adjustment ability, make people and the environment harmonious, simple and effective, and are ideal means for human beings to cool down, get rid of diseases and prolong life.

Due to the different experiences of different generations of health care practitioners, their health care methods focus on calming the nerves, exercising, consolidating essence, regulating qi, nourishing diet and drug bait, each with its own strengths, and TCM health care has gradually differentiated into corresponding academic schools. These different schools carry forward the academic health preservation theory from many angles and enrich the content of TCM health preservation.

TCM regimen is an open discipline system, involving astronomy and meteorology, philosophy and religion, humanities and society, psychology and behavior, prevention and health care and many other fields, many of which have become the focus of multidisciplinary research.

To sum up, TCM health preservation is really an old and young new discipline, which can lead people to the realm of immortality. With the development of the times, the theories and methods of TCM will be further enriched, perfected and improved.
