When is the World Safety and Health Day in 2020?

Nowadays, the problem of safety and health has always been our concern. In order to make the world pay attention to this problem, World Safety and Health Day has been established. So when is the World Safety and Health Day in 2020?

When is the World Safety and Health Day in 2020: Tuesday, April 28th, 2020, the sixth day of the fourth lunar month.

The idea of setting up World Safety and Health Day at Work originated from Workers' Day. Memorial Day was first initiated by American and Canadian workers in 1989. It commemorates the dead and wounded workers on April 28th every year. The International Confederation of Free Trade Unions and the Global Confederation of Trade Unions have developed it into a global activity and expanded its scope to every workplace. The International Day of Remembrance for Dead and Disabled Workers has been recognized by more than 65,438,000 people in the world.

On World Day 2005, the ILO encouraged the government, workers' organizations and employers' organizations to take actions within their power to raise their awareness of the theme of accident and disease prevention. At the same time, encourage every worker who is engaged in labor to seriously consider their work practice and determine whether preventive measures can avoid injuries and diseases. Not only on April 28th, but also every day.

ILO firmly believes that work-related accidents and diseases can and should be prevented, and actions must be taken at the world and enterprise levels to achieve this goal. On the one hand, it is necessary to formulate appropriate occupational safety and health laws and act according to the law. Labour inspectors play a key role in this regard. On the other hand, the content of occupational safety and health can be better incorporated into vocational training courses and enterprise training plans, so as to truly and successfully reduce work-related accidents and diseases. Prevention here refers to the core concept of preventive safety and health culture.
