In the Otolaryngology Clinic of Fujian Union Medical College Hospital, more than 10 patients with noise deafness can be treated in one week, most of which are related to improper use of headphones, and the youngest is only 1 1 year.
Improper use of headphones for a long time will lead to irreversible hearing loss. At present, the treatment effect of noise deafness is not ideal, and only prevention can be given priority to.
The doctor's director suggested:
Use headphones should follow the principle of "three 60s", that is, use headphones for no more than 60 minutes at a time, and the volume should not exceed 60% of the maximum volume. Do not use headphones in an environment above 60 decibels.
Avoid using headphones when sleeping. Some young people like to sleep with music. Unconsciously, headphones play all night, which increases the risk of hearing loss.
Frequent or long phone calls can also damage hearing. It is best to control the call for about 3 minutes. If conditions permit, use hands-free call.
Common hearing tests include otoscopy, pure tone audiometry and acoustic immittance. A complete set of tests takes about half an hour, which can help doctors judge the nature and degree of hearing impairment.
