Classification of children's snacks

The Ministry of Health issued the Children's Snack Consumption Guide compiled by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention for the first time, which divided children's snacks into three levels: regular consumption, moderate consumption and restricted consumption for the first time, so as to facilitate parents to buy children's snacks at their discretion, which has important practical significance for improving the health level of children in China.

The Consumer Guide points out that snacks are defined as a small amount of food or drinks (excluding daily drinking water) eaten outside dinner time, and that snacks are part of a reasonable human diet.

According to the survey data of relevant departments, in China, the main reason for children to eat snacks is very simple, because they are addicted to delicious food, coupled with the comparison mentality among children's partners, about 63% of children have the habit of eating snacks every day, and the time is mostly concentrated in the evening, and the place is mostly concentrated in school and home.

In the guide, boiled eggs, fresh milk, baked soybeans and baked sweet potatoes are clearly listed as snacks that can be eaten frequently. Children are advised to eat it every day, while chocolate, dried meat and coffee are listed as "suitable snacks" and can be eaten 1-2 times a week, while cotton candy, puffed food, egg yolk and chocolate pie, which children love and often eat, are all listed as restricted food.
