Development history

At the end of 2005, in order to implement the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases, the Regulations on Emergency of Public Health Emergencies and other laws and regulations, timely and effectively respond to public health emergencies and major public health problems, meet the growing health needs of the public, and provide the public with a unified hotline number that is easy to remember and use, and convenient for the public to communicate with the health administrative department.

The National Health and Family Planning Commission (formerly the Ministry of Health) issued the Notice of the Ministry of Health on Launching the "12320" National Public Health Service Telephone (No.486 [2005] of Wei Ban Fa), officially launched the construction of the 12320 National Public Health Service Telephone Network, and positioned its function as a public health service telephone.
