Step 1: Preparation before root cutting and planting. If a healthy plant is fleshy, it will have a long messy root system. You can trim the root system by hand without scissors, but prepare a flowerpot and prepared soil with a diameter two to three centimeters larger than that of the plant according to the growth habit of the plant.
Step 2: the operation process of root cutting and planting. With a little finger force, you can clean the fibrous roots. These fibrous roots will wither directly after being buried in the soil, but will prevent the growth of the main root system. Therefore, cleaning them before planting in the upper pot can promote the main root system to germinate new fibrous roots faster and speed up the pot taking. Scissors are not recommended, because if the wound formed by scissors is not handled properly, plants will rot due to bacterial infection after being buried. However, the tearing of fingers will not cause too much damage to the main root system, and only the weak fibrous roots can be torn off.
Step 3: After pruning, you can plant it. Generally, the diameter of the container is two to three centimeters larger than the diameter of the plant, so as to leave enough space for the growth of the plant. The prepared soil should be dry or slightly wet. Dig a pit equivalent to the main root system in the center of the container and bury the plants. Hold the plant and shake it from side to side to match the prepared soil. You can also throw it directly into a big container with soil like a small flower and put it in a warm place with astigmatism.
Second, how do different succulents slow down their roots?
Slow root of meat cone: most meat cones are capillary roots. The method used here is completely different from that of stones. It is transplanted in wet soil without pruning roots. Unlike raw stone flowers, it is easy to rot when transplanted into wet soil, which can easily guide the cone to take root. Summer is not a good time to take root, and water is easy to evaporate, which leads to the rapid loss of water supply for capillary roots. Wet the flowerpot with a watering can before transplanting. Don't plant the meat cone too deep. Just plant the roots. Then the pavement can be done, but I only do it in summer and put it in a scattered and ventilated place to take root.
Slow-rooted cactus: the seedlings of cactus have thick mineral roots, which means that the roots in the soil will become breeding grounds for bacteria when the water content is high, so the slow-rooted cactus is planted in dry soil. What we see is dry soil, but in fact there is water in the soil, which is enough for extremely dry cactus. Remember to put it in a semi-cool and ventilated place.
Note: When succulents slow down their roots, it is forbidden to play with pots frequently, which will easily cause the roots to shake and cause the capillary roots to die. Cultivation substrates have great influence on the root growth of succulents. In a word, granular soil is not conducive to the formation of fine roots, and the root system of long roots is often strong, while peat soil is beneficial to long roots, and it is often not long before the whole basin soil is surrounded by complicated roots.
Third, other matters needing attention in the cultivation of succulent plants
Watering: succulents must replenish water in time to meet the needs of growth and development, rather than being "dry but not wet" as some people think. Of course, for plants planted in the ground, the number of watering can be less. Most succulents and cactus varieties cultivated by themselves are difficult to master watering, mainly in the timeliness of watering.
Fertilization: apply decomposed dilute liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer once every 20 days for winter plants and intermediate plants. Fertilization time can be in sunny morning, so be careful not to splash fertilizer on plants. Summer species do not need fertilization.
Illumination: succulents are sunlight-loving plants, so they must be cultivated in a sunny environment, otherwise they will not be raised well. This plant is a special kind of plant, such as cactus, which belongs to succulents. This plant needs the help of sunlight to absorb nutrients, but it should also be careful not to make them too dry.
Environment: No matter what kind of succulents, they should have a good ventilation environment. In the hot and humid environment, the air is not circulated, which is not conducive to the evaporation of water, and it is difficult to reduce the temperature, which is easy to cause root rot. Because the humidity in the air itself is higher than other seasons, even Wawei (Volume 12) who likes high humidity should leave the sultry environment and breathe fresh air at this time.
